Do you happen to be in Tennessee?
I would like to get confirmation on the length of the fuel tank. Total length front to back and side to side. Not any of the bulges. Just the rectangular tank part. Also the notches to clear the brake slack adjusters at each bottom end of the tank.
These are the same tanks as used on the C424/425.
There is more I would like to get from you about the tanks if you are willing.

These sit in Gowanda NY. Please add the Alco buffers to Shapeways too (if they aren’t already)! Really looking forward to seeing this one completed. Thanks, Mark PS: You can “kind of” see how the buffer fits to the frame in this shot. And the filter mounted to the fuel tank is clear. What a sad looking pup, but would make a really neat modeling project.

5067 has been cut up for several years now. NY&LE also sold one of their C425s to GVT and it sits in Scranton. I forget which of the two, the high short hood or the low.

Looking at coupler pockets, would these by Miniatures by Eric be acceptable for a Century unit?

Looking at coupler pockets, would these by Miniatures by Eric be acceptable for a Century unit? Yes they would. They would pass off very nicely for that detail.

Looking at coupler pockets, would these by Miniatures by Eric be acceptable for a Century unit? At some point I think I acquired a pair of these and compared to the newest Bowser C630/636 them seemed oversized. I think I still have them and if I do will take pictures compared to the Bowser Locos.

I wondered if anyone had dimensions for the distinctive fuel tank bulges on the N&W C425s, just their height, length, how far the bulges should protrude from the flat surfaces.

So I forgot to take the pics of the Miniatures by Eric coupler pocket but will do so later today. Here is DL 3642 without her pilot: I have literature from Tiger Valley about the different fuel tank sizes. I used this info for my NW 1013 model which I will also take pics of today. Tony Sissons cut the bulges from brass for this model based on the TV info and some measurements we made in Scranton and on the lone NW C630 in Roanoke. Off to do those pics.

Ok got the photos. Here is the Miniatures by Eric part: Compare to the Bowser C630(old don't have one of the newer models) Compare to the Atlas C425: N&W C630 1139. Bowser model riding on Atlas Trainmaster trucks. N&W C425 1013. Using an Atlas C20 HH cab and cut down nose. The Bowser cab and HH didn't fit well. My notes show that the front bulge is 6ft 3 in in length and the rear is 5ft 3 in. Also these N&W units have the battery boxes on the opposite side. I forget the reasoning but was a weight distribution issue. Atlas does this phase you just have to look hard at the models. I think I started with a BN unit. A lot of Cal Scale parts used on this model. After taking these pics I want to go back and add the MbyE parts. They are not so oversized as I thought, pretty darn close to me.

The MBE part looks like resin? The MBE parts I have are brass. BTW I think I read somewhere that Eric passed away recently.

I think these either came from Shapeways or a guy that was on Diesel Detailer. To be honest I forgot which was which.
