That's a pretty broad question. If the item in question is square then there is no difference. But if its a rectangle then things get interesting.

Typically, length is the longer of the two. It is the measure of an item measured lengthwise; IE, along its longer axis.

What is the difference between lenght and wigth? There IS no difference; they're BOTH misspelled. Well, thinking on it some more, the difference is 1. But they're still both misspelled. Ed
