The one on the right certainly looks SP&S-ish.
YES! Looking good.

Glad to see that they are moving forward with these. Does anyone know who is now manufacturing them for Bowser?

They are looking nice in the raw. I mentioned long ago, but it would be hard for me not to pick up a DeWitt Geep if they ever do such a warlock. Hell, a true ALCo in simplified NYC or PC would probably be enough for me to make an impulse buy.

I thought I read somewhere that Bowser was going to add to their list BN patched NP RS-3's. The candidates would be 4081 and 4082 (former NP 857 and 858). Here's the one I want: www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=5346233It got its BN number 7/20/1970 and was painted in BN green 10/29-1976. It also got painted BACK into NP paint for a court case. World won't end, but I'd buy one if Bowser did it. Ed

I watched a vid by bowser that seemed to indicate they have molds in-house. They do the runs I guess you'd call it, then assembly may be elsewhere. I have no idea if this always the case or not.

The one on the right in the front view of the units appears to be not the top one in the first two photos but the one below it. And it MAY. be the ex-B&M D&H unit. Great news!

You are correct in that thinking. Bowser is smart enough to not let the Chinese have the molds. They produce the parts here then ship them to China for assembly. -- Ken

I wonder which version would be closest to appropriate for a Detroit & Mackinac unit?

In the event Bowser makes a NYC 5200 to 5500 series RS3's, put me down for 13 of them.

I think if one digs you can find a post by Lee here on this board where he admits that the problem became getting the paint and so forth done on the shells. Could not get it done in the US. He was sending them overseas to be painted and lettered and then assembling here, but there was a high loss rate between poor packing and testing that had to be done (US regs) and so forth. So he went to having them fully assembled over there to combat that issue.
FWIW, per emails from them, a bunch of items are coming next month. Certain boxcars, runs of N8 and N5 cabooses, all of the red Lehigh Valley C628s, and a run of GMD SD40s. All show expected mid-February, so I presume they're on the water already, or maybe even already in port. Going to be expensive for me, I preordered one each of all the LV units since it may be some time before they're run again.

I thought the GMD SD40 project was on hold or cancelled. Would it be another run of SD40-2's?

In the event Bowser makes a NYC 5200 to 5500 series RS3's, put me down for 13 of them. It appears none of those are Phase III RS-3's, so you'll have to wait until Bowser does an earlier phase version. Soon would be good for me, as I think that would cover the rest of the SP&S ones. Ed

IIRC 8223 (5223) was the first NYC RS3. Common local power on branchlines before the RS32s and other engines were bumped down.

I model late NYC early PC on the B & A. I recall reading here a while back that Bowser was planning on doing all phases, not just later phases. In the event Bowser produces earlier phase RS3s with the various options- plows, roof mounted air tanks, steam generators, etc, I will take 13.

I am looking forward to the Boston & Maine version. I can see a couple of them replacing my generic Atlas models.
