Getting ready to work on an Atlas/ Kato GP7. The long pieces are the tank bottoms for an 800 gallon fuel tank. They are made longer than needed and when installed will be cut to length. I used the information from Scott Chatfield to get the tank bottom contour. The small pieces front and center are new draft gear/ buffer plates with the correct design for early GP7's. The round parts sticking up from the draft gear box is the coupler pin. The parts to the left are new pieces for the bottom of the pilot plate. These have a small shelf to glue photo etched footboards to. For the pilot plate, the idea is to clean it flat and then add new holes for the coupler lift bar and add these new parts.

Brian, Those resin parts look really good! I don't see any fine lines like on some 3D printed parts. Did you consider using an Athearn Genesis tank; p/n G62350? Also looks like Atlas makes the 800 gallon tank too. Or is this the part you’re modifying? I think this is the information/dimensions from Scott Chatfield you are referring too. If not, it’s still a good diagram to share. Thanks, Mark

No, did not consider using the Athearn tank. Most likely no obtainable either since it is not listed in their official online parts list.
Yes, those are the Scott Chatfield drawings I used.
The parts came back VERY clean. Just a little bit of cleanup and of course cleaning the cheese off them.

In my experience Athearn does have a lot of parts that aren’t listed on the website, just have to email or call them.

The other thing that is good with what I am doing is that I do not remove that much weight as I would by replacing it with an Atlas or Athearn part.
