Decal Vendors
I have purchased and used decals from all of the following vendors. Wabash Custom Decals/ Mark Vaughan wabashcustomdecals.com/(Somewhat eclectic offerings, with focus on, well, Wabash. I found a set for a Clinchfield 60’ auto parts car here! However, I’m not sure if Mr. Vaughan is still producing decals; some for sale at Des Plaines Hobbies.) That is not an auto parts car, the Clinchfield purchased two 60' Double Sliding door boxcar for transporting paper products. That is not an auto parts car, the Clinchfield purchased two 60' Double Sliding door boxcar for transporting paper products. Started with the Robbins Rails kit and modified it. Also add the Ann Arbor Historical Society to the Decal list. www.trainweb.org/annarbor/Society/OrderPage1.htmRick Jesionowski

Smokebox Graphics has added some new decal products to their line. I was particularly interested in their Paint Out Blanks (DF6487 & DF6987) and their Reweigh Patches (DF0587 & DF0687). These helped me correct some decaling projects that I had done some time ago that , “upon further review”, were incorrect. These decals are really, really good. They are printed in Italy and whatever the technology is the result is a very precise and legible decal. They come off the backing paper easily and they adhere to surfaces without requiring a lot of Microscale Set or Sol. Because the print on many of these decals is tiny, Smokebox provides an extremely helpful enlarged data sheet so that OFs like me can actually see what is on the the decal! Nice!

New to ARF. Interesting topic. I have a couple of companies to add. I have not done business with the first two, but their products look interesting. Lines West Products has Milwaukee Road themed freight car and diesel parts, decals, and other items. www.lineswestproducts.comNorthwoods Models/ Soo Parts has Soo Line themed diesel and caboose parts. www.sooparts.techC&O Historical Society offers some C&O specific decals, 3-D printed right of way and diesel parts. I have purchased the HO scale 3-D printed GP7/9 bell and yoke and spark arrestors. They were nicely done. www.chessieshop.com

Adding to the list of decal manufacturers here - my online store has been active for a while now, and aside from decals, we offer custom-run unnumbered cars, undecorated models, and - coming soon - detail parts and paint. There are a lot of new decal sets under development, many of which support some of the amazing 3D printed products coming from companies like 3D Central. Focus is HO scale; I just released an HO scale reweigh/patch set for SP freight cars, 70-ton boxcars among others. You can check out the whole collection here: RailTrain Hobbies - Products For The Prototype Modeler
For those that do Facebook, follow us there for up-to-date product announcements and news. Thanks! -Rick Rick Selby RailTrain Hobbies Pacific Northwest RPM
