Call your card company and initiate a chargeback as well.

Some may say that is a strong tread name, but it is FACT.... Facts speak for themselves, and I am NOT the only one cheated out of our money.... I, along with other MKT modelers, pre-ordered with Lines West for 2 - MKT 50' converted piggyback flat undecorated kit - HO scale for $59.98 with $4.50 shipping for a total pre-order of $64.48. On my pre-order receipt, it states: "You will be automatically charged for your order via your selected payment method when your pre-order is released on August 15, 2020." Usual business practice is when something is released, that also means it ships to the customer, but not with Lines West. Lines West updated via email on October 27th: Saying that, products are being produced and packaged up for shipment. A lot will be going out this week and into the next. The MKT flats, after a number of adjustments, are running as are the MILW SG-1 kits. Speaking of the SG-1, I managed to damage some of the frames so I had to order more of them. As there were a number of people that didn't get their orders in for the Twinkie I added ten more frames to the order, so there are some available on the website. lineswestproducts.com/product/milwaukee-road-slug-sg-1-conversion-kit-ho-scale/That was the LAST CONTACT from Lines West and Todd Jones, October 27th.... But he didn't mind charging all of our credit cards a few days later; he charged mine on 9/2/2020
Todd was contacted directly by another Katy modeler who was really helping get this off the ground and was told the evening of February 7th "they would be going out Monday." Still nothing arrived.....
I have emailed Todd numerous times, including my cancellation on Feb 12, 2021 THAT IS 5 MONTHS since Todd Jones and Lines West took my money with no product; I'd say I've been pretty damn patient thus far, and have kept this private until now...
I have email him, instant messaged him, and called him with NO RESPONSE....
I know Todd Jones, owner of Lines West LLC is on this forum, because be blew up when ST had the audacity to produce the SDL-39 a model of something he was "working on"
So, Todd Jones, hopefully you will read this thread and REFUND MY MONEY by cashiers check-you have my address with USPS Tracking number of the envelope
and REFUND EVERYONE ELSE YOU TOOK MONEY FROM & DIDNT DELIVER!
BTW- If you decide you want to start debating the facts, I WILL produce documentation to prove you are a liar.....
PLEASE save yourself the frustration of several of us and don't let Lines West LLC and Todd Jones take your money....

Jon- I have a 90 day chargeback cutoff... Lines West wasn't going to charge until released and shipped. Many of us never saw it when it happened. And you have documentation of trying to work with the vendor to receive your product. Contact your CC company, they want to keep you as a customer and typically do not tolerate fraudulent charges. Some CC companies even have additional protections, either extending the factory warranty, or having a satisfaction policy.

I can understand your frustration. LombardHobbies is not far from this either,
I had a pretty bad experience with them. The shipment did not move for many weeks, and they stopped taking my calls. I reported this to my Credit card company who twisted the arm to force them to investigate about my merchandise and delivered with a huge delay.
ON top, no apologies or regret/ remorse from the shop owner, pretty ignorant and egoistic attitude. Even though they had some good prices, I would rather pay a bit more but never again LombardHobbies, they are crooks !!

Lombards? I've never had a problem with them ever. I order from them every couple of months, most recently last month.

Have made large purchases from Lombards in the past 12 months. No problems with them whatsoever.

I too have been waiting on my flat car from Lines West. I was charged on 2/2/21 and have not heard a word from the company. I hope we can get a resolution on this soon!

It would appear he has stopped all communication after the ScaleTrains announcement, the last update I got was on February 1st at 0141 informing me that the MKT TOFC flats would ship on February 2nd.
Not a peep since then....And I’m out around $400.00

I’m in the same boat. I ordered as well and had my card charged back in September. Now, silence. I sent an email last week looking for an update that has gone unanswered. It’s really disappointing because I was set to buy a handful of the Milwaukee hoppers he has available as well.

Not to hijack the thread, but im assuming they shipped pretty quickly, issue was on the shipping company’s end?

One reason i do NOT like having to order online, most of the good hobby shops near me have gone fully online. That means this kind of stuff can happen. I usually just go with Trainworld or modeltrainstuff as they can be trusted, and dont bother with pre-orders.

Wow, look at all the new forum members who came here with an axe to grind. Welcome, you got anything to contribute, or are you just pissed off?

I've got no dog in this hunt but at mention of him not posting since the ScaleTrains thread, i notice this part of his post.
Quoting him: Also, if you need to contact me via email try and use this email; hotwheels1603 AT gmail.com I get so much spam through the webstore that gmail sends the vast majority of messages from the contact page to my spam folder along with the hundreds of Nigerian scams, pron offers, etc so I occasionally miss an email. I'm looking into changing the IP of the webstore to see if this helps as changing the contact email made no difference. "Close quote".
I don't know if the upset persons are aware of the new email address. Just thought i'd throw this out.

Wow, look at all the new forum members who came here with an axe to grind. Welcome, you got anything to contribute, or are you just pissed off? So does, “new member” status invalidate a legitimate argument? Also doesn’t mean people came here with an axe to grind. More like, saw someone with a similar issue and decided to speak up. Or “new member” who has been here for several years and just rarely comments. Pick your poison. If someone just registered today to jump in and speak up you “might” have an argument in saying it’s one or two people making multiple registrations to muddy the waters. But it seems to me that a little looking on your part might show that it’s a more diverse group of people commenting here despite new member status. I could be wrong, but it appears you base comment value by post count. However you’ve got a high post count I see. Do you have anything to contribute to this discussion/issue or are you just working on your daily comment quota?

Wow, look at all the new forum members who came here with an axe to grind. Welcome, you got anything to contribute, or are you just pissed off? Wow, Look at Mr Master Member come to the rescue of Lines West LLC... Just curious gp40p2, after 5 months what would you do? This has been going on for a long time, and I know I have been MORE than patient & understanding. Just a FYI, I was in the original forum and have been in the hobby over 40 years, so I’m not really ‘new’ as you may think I am... I’d much rather keep this private, but obviously trying to conduct business isn’t a strength of his... This is my last resort to establish communication of anytype before I pursue legal means. If you know Todd personally, maybe you could let him know theft isn’t thought highly of in this hobby.....

At this point, I just want my money back & be done with Lines West for good, as do several people. I originally thought this was an isolated case until several MKT modelers I know started talking about Lines West and being charged with no products. If this email resolves the issue, I’ll buy you a drink of your choice! Thanks again!

Actually, vaporware is sadly nothing new.
Canadian Model Trains took a whole lot of deposits on brass models that were never delivered, and one day just kept all the money and closed up shop. It was a big scandal some years back, as they were one of the largest brass dealers in the world at that time, and also sold plastic too.

Sadly, this seems to be a new business model for some... I miss the days of ethics and doing the right thing. In Texas, a hand shake is still considered a legally binding contract in business that will stand up in court...

In Texas, a hand shake is still considered a legally binding contract in business that will stand up in court... Your honor. He was only passing me the hot sauce. That weren't no handshake. Your honor. I was wearing a glove! Your honor. We didn't pump three times! Does Covid-bumping count as a handshake, or should I risk my life for a business deal? Ed

Wow this went south real fast...
I'd say if you need to vent type a message out, and then delete it, you get your mean thoughts out and vent. The thing about this idea is, you wont actually be cursing anyone out on a public forum where many people will see it, reluctantly.

In Texas, a hand shake is still considered a legally binding contract in business that will stand up in court... That's because in Texas, the judge, the prosecutor, the defendant and/or several of the jurors are all related to each other. Or some combination thereof.
