Had a little time tonight/this morning while waiting for stuff to print to doodle this up. Let me know if there are any glaring errors or what variations there may be. The odd thing at the bottom of the cab is a support used for printing. It is easily removed when assembling. I don't have to start from scratch on these so they go fairly quickly if I get some time to spend on them. If there are other railroads with similar chop noses I may do them if there is interest.

It’s got a lot of the proportions of the GP16s I’m used to seeing. It’s lacking the “posts” at the end of the numberboards on the EV units. Do you know anything about them?

The posts were for warning beacons it appears from older photos. Similar or the same style as used by Amtrak on the F40's. I could add them but that may make it more difficult to apply actual beacons so not sure which way to go.
I've been thinking the number board housing is a little short in height and a skosh wide which your pic seems to validate.

Managed to squeeze a test piece on with some other cab kits. Black doesn't show the detail well in pics... Since the forward battery boxes have to be removed I'm thinking it would be just as easy to remove below the cab as well and have it all in the kit. Perhaps as one piece.

I would say wiping it clean to the frame would be nice. That's what I usually do if I add a Cannon nose and cab...easier to start fresh.

That's my thought as well. The other cab kits are easy as the parts just snap in place of the Walthers parts. These will take a little more work but not bad.
May do IC Paducah's as well even though IM came out with theirs. There's some interest in them in S and O so might be worthwhile even if HO sales are mediocre.
Had requests for CP chop noses as well but can't find my data on those.

I’ve thought about doing a GP10. I think the cab from a Mainline GP9 could be a decent starting point, but didn’t see if there are other major differences than headlight configurations.
The issue I see is the shortened hood door beneath the air filters. Maybe do a kit with the filter and door parts.

a main reason 3D models loose their details when textures/paint is applied is when you use a very bright or dark color, it can hide them due to the ways of exposure. In simulations or pictures this problem is multiplied. Id recommend more of a dark grey. Looks awesome though, might grab one of these for a side project at the release.

Any time I shoot something black I have to throw the pic in a photo editor and turn up the fill light to see any details.
Shooting it on a darker color background helps, too, cameras have a hard time with high contrast going back to Kodachrome film.

Had a little time to do some more work on the GP16 conversion. Also in the pic on the right is a CP chop nose conversion. One of three varieties for those. Can't see much in the pic due to the color so also included are CAD drawings. Yes, I will get some paint on some of these at some point. (The sample GP16 is missing one class light as I missed it when doing the combine function in CAD when setting it up to print. It will be there. The headlight will also be a separate part as shown on the CP) I think I'm going to add the posts for the warning lights. If someone wants to actually add the lights removing the posts won't be an issue for them. Also will do the handbrake so it doesn't have to be purchased separately. Three versions of the CP cab. (If there are more let me know). In the back is the shorter height board. I know CP8201 has this but not sure of all the numbers with that variation. In the middle is the tall number board housing with class lights filled in and in front is with class lights. Note the insulated cab doors. And two variations of the CP nose. I've made the NBW's for the grabs a bit prouder as they were too fine and have done the same for the door catches. CP modelers feel free to let me know what number series the different number boards cover. I ran a 1500 series (Are they different?) a few times 20 years ago but that's all the experience/knowledge I have of them other than some photos. Something else that I think I finally got the kinks out of. Have some samples out for testing. Look ma, no lines.

Neat stuff! Can you post a little bit brighter picture of the cabs? It's hard to see how well they came out. Thanks, Mark
