From the Vault
A long, long time ago on the original Atlas Forum we did an occasional model building challenge using Atlas products. This is one of my submissions. I originally posted it many, many months late. I’m really slow. It’s Kim’s House chopped down to a story and a half, and then “modernized.” The garage is from a small manufacturer which I no longer remember. The TV antenna is by Gold Medal Models. The shutters are Tichy. The enclosed porch is scratch. The reason the roof is so extremely weathered is because I really botched splicing the Atlas roof pieces. The weathering hides that unless you know where to look!

Lots of roofs weathered like that here in Michigan the last few years.

DSC04003 by wp8thsub, on Flickr GN 137092, from series 137000-137099 built by Berwick in Feb. - March of 1970. Series 319100-319499 started nearly identical, but for the most part had their DF loaders removed eventually. The model was assembled using Cannon & Co. kit bundle 5010.

I did take a break from the Greenville '60 and get the RSD15 masked and shot into the freight bonnet colors, TCP's ATSF blue is a beautiful color! A couple of oldies too. My Ride into work today, I kind of quit riding the light Rail with Covid, but it's much better here so I'm back on the train. Here's ashot from the platform at Angle Lake which is currently the southernmost stop on the system. We're looking south here, the water in the distance is part of Puget Sound. Have a great Sunday!
