Old photo of nice Accurail 7500 series triple hoppers from the days before I was adding uncoupling levers, air hoses and removing the Kadee trip pin on freight cars. I did add weight, coal loads, air lines, metal wheels, renumbered the cars and applied light weathering. These cars cost $13.50 each in 2007 at a now-closed local hobby shop and there were no shipping charges and no mask requirements. Life was so much easier and cheaper then.

Some fun with an old model, here's a Life Like P2K SD7 truck after being disassembled and removal of what looks like somebody's old PB & J from the gear train - Still some remnants on the bottom clip. I decided to re-motor the old unit with a Kato set up, this involved some grinding out of the under fame with a Dremel rotary file, cutting back the weights and countersinking the motor mounting holes so the screws flush fit with the bottom of the tank casting. Here it's kind of set up but I'll need to go back and lengthen the truck lead wires and no lighting has been set yet.

Since Mr. Peabody’s Wayback Machine has been fired up, here’s a photo of a pair of customized Model Power Baldwin RF-16s. These were decorated for my fictional Susquehanna & Western in a paint scheme shamelessly purloined from Allen McClelland’s V&O. As an aside, the September 2021 RMC has a retrospective piece by Tony Cook on Model Power’s Sharks as well as their Alco FAs and EMD Es.

Here is a model I built a couple of years ago based on a 1960's article by E.L. Moore. The box car is an Accurail model that I painted, decalled and weathered. Here is another view of the structure.
