By joining this forum you have agreed to the terms and conditions stated below:
In order to use these forums, users are required to provide a username, password and email address. Neither the Administrators of these forums, or the Moderators participating, are responsible for the privacy practices of any user. Remember that all information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to share any of your personal information. Any user who finds material posted by another user objectionable is encouraged to contact us via email. We are authorized by you to remove or modify any data submitted by you to these forums for any reason we feel constitutes a violation of our policies, whether stated, implied or not.
This site may contain links to other web sites and files. We have no control over the content and cannot ensure it will not be offensive or objectionable. We will, however, remove links to material that we feel are inappropriate as we become aware of them.
You have also agreed that you, the user, are 13 years of age or over.
1. This forum has a "no flaming" policy. This means that we will not tolerate offensive or threatening posts aimed at other members or the moderators. The defining of offensive behavior is the sole privilege of the administrator and will include but not be limited to, profanity (or any other type of foul language), personal threats, attacks, and insults, and any other comments demeaning or slanderous in nature.
2. By their participation in this forum, it is implied that the users agree to hold the owner/administrator free of liability brought on by the actions of said user. Users/members of this forum have no rights other than the right to participate in forum discussions by making posts or other actions based on the login and password rights given to them by the administration. These rights cannot be transferred to another person and are subject to revocation by the owner/administrator based on the compliance or non-compliance of the user with the stated rules.
3. Political discussion is allowed within the context of railroads or railroading, and then, ONLY in the Crew Lounge. Defining party lines, or making any kind of remark(s) against any one, or more, political parties constitutes a violation of this rule and will be subject to disciplinary action.
4. Selling IS allowed, however transactions may not be carried out in the main forum areas; they must be done by PM – private message. Links to eBay may be posted, but if it becomes excessive, posting these links will be suspended. Trading, giveaways, and any other transaction of sorts may be posted, but again, if it becomes excessive, posting these types of links will be suspended.
5. Personal attacks on other forum members, people, and companies will not be allowed. Legitimate concerns about the practices of companies may be discussed; however, discussion must be civilized. Disagreements are certainly allowed as everyone is not going to agree on every point or issue. However, the use of diplomacy is STRONGLY encouraged!
6. Posts are to be made in the relevant forum. Members are asked to read the forum descriptions before posting.
7. Members should post in a way that is respectful of other users. Again, disagreements are perfectly fine as long as they are handled tactfully. Flaming or abusing users in any way will not be tolerated.
8. Members are asked to not act as "back seat moderators". If members note an issue that violates this policy they are encouraged to bring it to the attention of a Moderator. Only do this if a moderator has not replied within a reasonable period of time.
9. Members are asked to respect the copyright of other users, sites, media, etc. Re-printing material without permission will receive a warning and the post will be subject to removal.
10. Spam is not tolerated here under any circumstance. Users posting spam will be warned, and their post will be removed. See specific item on spam and 3rd party linking for more information.
11. The Forum Moderators reserve the right to edit or remove any post at any time. The determination of what is construed as indecent, vulgar, spam, etc. as noted in these points is up to Forum Moderators and not users.
12. Surveys and polls are permitted in the forum.
13. Manufacturers are welcome to participate on the Atlas Rescue Forum. Manufacturers’ representatives should be clearly identified in their profile and their signature. Manufacturers are also permitted and encouraged to make announcements of their new products, including a link to the manufacturer's web site where all of the other information can be found (item numbers, road names, pricing, etc). Follow up questions can be posted under the announcement thread, and can also be directed to the manufacturer via email or private message.
14. Discussion of both unofficial and officially announced products is permitted, but regarding unofficial announcements, until a manufacturer officially announces a product’s released everything pertaining to that product is subjective and/or speculative. Plain and simple, we will not know all there is to know about a particular product until we have a physical representation of that product. We do know that many modelers have contributed input on past products. This practice is still encouraged, again, do so using tact and show professional courtesy to said manufacturer.
Disciplinary Policy:
1. Users/members will be warned a maximum of three times for any and all offences. A fourth warning will automatically institute a temporary ban for period of two weeks. Once the ban has been lifted, if said member is again found in violation, they receive ONE warning, afterward, violator will be banned for a period of one month. Repeated violations after this will result in a permanent ban.
2. Arguing with Moderators after having received a warning will lead to an immediate additional warning. Should this exceed three warnings, a temporary ban will be put in place as above. Sending insults and vulgarities to a moderator by way of PM will be subject to immediate discipline!
3. Any attempt to circumvent a temporary ban will lead to that ban being made permanent. Circumvention includes re-registering under a non-banned username, changing IP addresses to evade an IP ban, registering a new email account to evade an email ban. Circumvention includes posting as an anonymous user.
4. Fake memberships, or those created under false pretenses for the purpose of causing "trolling" and other disruptive behavior will result in immediate deletion of account, and IP ban. If you do not have enough integrity to sign your own name and take responsibility for the words, thoughts, and ideas that you present on this forum, you WILL NOT be allowed to participate!
5. Permanent bans will be a last resort, and careful consideration will be given before implementing them. The Atlas Rescue Forum reserves the right to consider lifting permanent bans at its discretion.
Note: These rules are subject to change at any time.
