Kind Sirs, Whilst looking through my latest'All Nation Line Catalogue' which I received from an American locoman whom I passed for steam engine working some twenty years back on the English NYMRailway he Larry Adler I seem to have lost 'track' of him! Those puns keep creeping in! I last knew of him in Charlevoix-sorry back to the question.
Is the firm All Nation still in vogue or has it passed away/been bought out /or anywot? All those lovely 0 gauge coach kits which I let slip through my pingies. If this firm is no more does any member know of any model-shops where old stocks may still be found. Nearly snow free but down to one degree at 07-39hrs N Yorkshire.

I assume we are talking about All Nation Line out of Chicago Illinois?
The All Nation Line of O scale kits originated out of the All Nation hobby shop in Chicago. The store has been gone for decades. As far as the line it too has crept into the history books. Kits will appear on e-Bay, auctions, swap meets and some may end up at hobby shops in consignment area.
The trouble with the All Nation Line is much of it has been surpassed by newer more detailed models, which feature better drives too and are more "user friendly". I don't know what happened to the old tooling. Places to start if looking for All Nation parts or old kits would be P&D Hobby in Michigan and Des Plaines Hobbies in Des Plaines Illinois. If they don't have anything, they may be able to lead you in the right direction.

I will look around at some local Train Shows to see if any show up. You might post this message on the O gauge page since some of those modelers might have some of the old kits. I am not sure exactly the area you live, but the picture below at Grosmont is fairly close. I visited the Line several times in the late 1996 to 2000 era and rode several of the trains. I also got to ride some of the other Museum lines and enjoyed the UK steam runs very much. Larry

Larry The photo of the A4 on the NYMR I was chief Loco Inspector on this railway from 'it's opening until about three years back and said I needed to retire as I was over seventy ! I'm seventy seven now and it would be hard for me to climb from the floor into the cab!! I've driven this loco on the NYM but also on British Railways when I was a Loco Inspector in the N.E Region. I last drove her on B.R. in 1975. They are a lovely machine to handle. I'll enquire in the 0 gauge section about All Nation Models I don't mind adding the superdetailling the Weaver coaches need that doing to them when you compare them to the Atlas CZs. Regards Jim Brodie.

I only live some ten or eleven miles from either end of this railway. Jim.

I had a test site installation at the airport at Newcastle in 1997 and traveled over there several times. I got to the York Museum twice and enjoyed seeing that place very much. Larry

not sure if any of the Tooling is currently in use,but the 4-6-0 was orignally maketed by Varney about 1946/47,then sold to GMC Models, and All-Nation picked it up at the Bankruptcy sale about 1950. think Babbit Models was the last supplier of the some of the former A-N Steam kits in the late 80s or 90s. have actually been to the All Nation Hoppy Shop about 1962. recall it was under the "EL" and was rather small and Packed with stuff. didnt get anything ,but looked around till mom dragged me out after about 20 minutes.
