I bought a total of four of these bins. I figured they'd be good for storing all those Evergreen packages. Part number 85017A. It's a masonite box with interlocking tabs. There are 9 internal dividers, also installed using interlocking tabs.
I just tried to assemble one of them. You have to align all the internal dividers (9) as you put the last side on. Tab A into Slot A. and so on. Actually, that adds up to 27 internal tabs and slots. And then there's the ones in the outer box structure that ALSO have to be aligned as the final side "slides" into place.
Uh. Really?
So before I put this stuff away for awhile, I thought I'd ask if anyone came up with a clever way to do this. Or even if anyone else ever bought these.

Motrak Models for those wanting to look them up. Lots of nifty storage ideas. Unfortunately I started to get a sympathetic itch from my Masonite allergy. What I would try is to glue two ends and one side. Then I would use dots of flexible adhesive to put in all the cardboard dividers. Probably not useful touse a square on the dividers at this time. You just don't want them to fall off. I would use tape to hinge the second side to one end. Then I would work my way along the dividers as I closed the side. Here's a link to a site with the history of sailor cursing. It might be useful! people.howstuffworks.com/swearing-like-sailor.htm

I have the Hobbyzone storage, but they don't really have anything that will hold styrene the way the Motrak Models ones will.

You just don't want them to fall off. I would use tape to hinge the second side to one end. Then I would work my way along the dividers as I closed the side. That kind of describes what I tried last: I essentially tried folding the "top" (the last piece--also known as a side) down from one side, so each divider would "engage" separately. Note that the dividers don't "engage" all by themselves; you have to align all three tabs. Note also that these tabs are down inside. Or underneath. Where your hands can't fit. Nor your eyes. And note also that the hinge area is fully willing to disengage for any reason, and make it all fail. Oh, yeah. Contrary to the instructions, I used no glue. Good thing, too, since it wasn't going to work; and I didn't need a failed attempt ALSO glued together. Ed

Sounds like I'm the first guy around here to get suckered into buying these.
However.
I think I've figured out how to do it. I'm going to "precision cut" some wood blocks to slide into the holes. The blocks will line up the internal dividers so the tabs will fit the slots. Helping out a lot is the pretty sloppy fit of those tabs.
I use my table saw outdoors, and the weather is all Bomb Cyclony. So it might be awhile before I do this.
