NCE Power Cab No Function Out on ESU decoder

So I set up a loco with an ESU V4 mobile decoder, using Decoder Pro on a Digitrax system. Loco has a beacon and was assigned to AUX3 (green wire) on F5. Works perfectly on the Digitrax system. When I take this loco to friends layout which uses NCE Power Cab there is a problem. F0 and F1 work fine, but F5 will not operate the beacon. The display shows F5 active, but no beacon. Tried changing the beacon to F3 and same non operation.

Any thoughts?

It's possible the NCE system has the address in a consist, or seeing it in a consist. Many ESU decoders use function 5 as "DPU mode", changing the lighting effects. I do know some systems play nicer with some decoders, and some seem to struggle. Next time you go to your friend's layout, try clearing consists from the system, and see if anything changes.
