What existing models would you like to see a new rerun and why?

Absolutely, there are some models that are sold out or I would like to see more numbers of.
-Intermountain FMC double door SP box car. Why? You never can have too many of those lumber box cars.
-Athearn RTR SD40T-2 (with the box nose headlight). Why? It hasn't been offered and would fill the last major hold in the D&RGW SD40T-2 model fleet.
-Walthers 100-ton 4-bay Bethlehem quad hopper D&RGW (Great Steal Fleet). Rio Grande had some 1600+ of those. Thats why.
-Athearn needs to rerun their 60' lumber load that was sold separately and also on flat cars. They need to do a 50' version of it. I didn't get any of the Athearn lumber loads back when they were produced in 2005/2006 and now they are very hard to find.

Athearn RTR: FRISCO SD45. Red & White scheme with "L-shaped" windshields.
These units sold out quickly and are difficult to find used, even on ebay.
Versatile for "foreign power visitor units" during the 70s-early 80s since they ran east and west of their home rail territory. For southeastern modelers, these and other Frisco diesels ran regularly in Seaboard Coast Line hotshot manifests. For western modelers they were regulars on Burlington Northern rails as well.

Athearn's updated FMC covered hopper in BN. BN had a ton of them (still does) and I could certainly use more than the three they offered.
Athearn SD40-2 in MKT. They did the late SD40-2 with the Q fans in MKT, but I'd like to see the low 600 numbers.

That said, I also would like to see more of them. I recall them going for about $18 each. I say that with great sadness and yearning. 'Cause I'd surely like another couple of dozen. Ed

BLI E units in undecorated. Preferably with a few upgrades. Why? Because they're still the best looking E units to my eye and the E8s are almost as rare as hens teeth.

Undec Athearn SD40T-2. Athearn SD40-2 in MILW, with 2 digit numbers for the Locotrol units. Why? Because I need another undec T-2, and I need a couple of MILW Locotrol units. Oh yeah, Atlas MILW GP40's, if for no other reason than to temper the prices they fetch on Ebay!

Ed Well, I missed those. I got the three from 2008 and never knew about the six from 2009. I'll have to comb ebay for them. I'd be happy to pay $18 each for them. That's a bargain.

I'd like to see Atlas run more numbers of their CW40-8 in CSX Bright Future. The last run was about 5 years ago, and they've only done 4 numbers total (2 with sound and 2 without) since they revised the body shell. I'd like to have 5 or 6 more for my fleet since they had such a big presence in the '90s before the CW44ACs really took over.

Athearn RTR SP SD45T-2. Can never have enough tunnel motors.

I wouldn't mind seeing a run of the Kato SD40-2 mid in the original BN scheme. I'm sure it will never happen since it's taken so long to sell out the white face scheme, but one can always dream.
Otherwise, another run of Athearns would suffice, but without a motor upgrade, they would not be my first choice.

When did Atlas make a RA GP38? I know they did an NECR High Nose GP38 #3869 in the RA paint but thats about it and it was for a custom run for a distributor. ---------------------------- That's the one..Atlas could release another run.
I seen those R A units at 3 different hobby shops and 4 or 5 train shows including the Berea show and the last one on e-Bay was around $200.00..

Athearn FMC 5347 in East Camden & Highland. They sell out fast, and the prototype was everywhere.
Athearn PS2600 in the Katy red scheme. It sold out and has disappeared. Just a neat car.
Kato GP35s, any/all versions. Need I say more....

Good list, guys. I already some things mentioned that I'd like to see run again. Here is my list; Athearn ACF 2970s in Western Maryland speed lettering...because I missed out on those when they came out. I'd go to the shows, seem 'em, and think "I'll buy some next time". I kept putting it off. Now it's been what, 6 years since I've seen one? Spring Mills Depot I-12 wagon-top caboose in Chessie ---I JUST missed out on these! That's what I get for being lazy. I kept putting off doing the pre-order. Next thing I knew, the pre-order phase had closed, and they were sold out this past Timonium. Happily, you can cross out Athearn Railgons, as mine just got here last week. Glad to see those ran again in GONX.

Unfortunately, I missed out on the DME GP40s when Atlas released them the first time around. It would be nice to finally get one.

I am waiting on Blackstone to do another run of the D&RGW drop-bottom gons. I've got every one of the six #s released so far, so really could use another half dozen even though I know they're not going to be cheap.

Spring Mills Depot Canstock Car in the original B&O Scheme. I missed those, you can still get the Chessie and CSX versions but the orignal B&O are all gone.

Rick, you may be in luck as according to the Spring-Mills website, they were doing another run of the B&O cars with new numbers. The page says taking reservations now; www.springmillsdepot.com/customcars.htm

Atlas GP40s in A&WP, Georgia, WofA and SCL. Why? Because Atlas never did them. Ciao. Raffaele I'll settle for Undec Dual-Mode Decoder equipped GP40's for the above. Since we're wishing, we might as well wish for a version that Atlas has "obsoleted" (for whatever reason).

Is that the redbox GP40 first issued around 1999? Actually, it's the version after the red box GP40. The current version Master Series Silver is closest to the red box version: DCC "ready". When Atlas put noise in the GP40 and created "Gold" versions, the DMD-version was history due to the re-engineering required to install speaker and different decoder which had a smaller PC board.

Rick, you may be in luck as according to the Spring-Mills website, they were doing another run of the B&O cars with new numbers. I'm really glad to see them having success with this model. They took a risk with do.ing a smaller initial product run because they weren't sure how well it was going to sell. I don't need more than the 6 CSX cars I already bought (don't really even need that many, to be honest), but I'm glad there's still demand for more. Can't wait to see what their third model will be. I have 3 sets of GP40's from Atlas, sounds like they are all obsoleted version? 1) December 1999 - Red box GP40 D&RGW small herald (x6) www.atlasrr.com/HOLoco/hogp40.htm2) May 2002 - Master Line GP40 with dual mode decoder D&RGW (x2) www.atlasrr.com/HOLoco/hogp3840new1.htm3) Auguest 2005 - Master Line GP40 with dual mode decoder D&RGW (x3) www.atlasrr.com/HOLoco/hogp38403.htmIf Atlas redid any of the above with the nose gyra light I would be seriously wanting them.

Dave I agree. I'm not a CSX, Chessie or B&O modeler, but I like cabooses and I had to have this one. I couldn't be more pleased with it. I also look forward to their next model. If it's as nice as the caboose, I'll get it.
