Hi wondering if anyone would know if replacing incandescent bulbs on an atlas mater b23-7 can be replaced with leds. It appears the bulbs are not working and I have led lamps with the built in resistor. Would this be a simple plug n play or would I have to make modifications. Help would be appreciated.

A B23 with bulbs? The B23, even from its first run in 2004, came with LEDs. If it does have bulbs, you can indeed simply remove the bulbs and connect am LED with a resistor (I use a 4mm one)to the board. Just did exactly this with a decoder install into a U23.

Any modern Atlas loco can. Just order their LED’s and swap.

I assumed they were bulbs. Probably need to take a closer look. Just noticed they are not working. Will have to reinvestigate.

Even my first run red box U23Bs have LEDs, don't know why the B23 would be different.

Atlas was a very early adapter of LEDs. About the only Master Series engines that continued to use bulbs into the early 2000s were the GP38/GP40.
