On Friday I was had lunch with a friend at Abbey Road here in Fuquay Varina, NC. Home of the RJ Corman office and the yard is right next to the restaurant. They had two new additions to their motive power fleet. One SD40T-2 and an SD40-2 which looked to be an ex Santa Fe unit. It has the light cut into the nose. This now brings the fleet up to five locomotives. The two new SD's along with two GP38's and I think it is an 8-40B. The 38's are ex oil bath that have been modified. Very cool to see all this old power locally. Very happy NS sold the Original NS line off to RJ Corman. I was getting tired of the modern GE's on the line. Back to good vintage EMD.

The 7107 is of BN heritage, same number. Nice to see additional power coming to the line. I was hoping for additional four axle power(a matching B39-8 would have been neat), but the topography of the railroad makes six axles a better fit.

Anthony, didn't you used to live in the Raleigh area? You recently moved to NE right? You look very familiar in your avatar photo.
Oh, so it is a B39-8 and not my incorrect 8-40B. Thanks for clearing that up.

That's correct, I'm from Fuquay-Varina. Since college I have lived all over, including a stint back home in North Carolina. I just hit one year in Nebraska.

The last time I saw you we were at Jeff's and we all went to Culver's for lunch. You were telling me about how the track used to run through Fuquay Varina when the Durham & Southern ran through there out to Angier.

There is a fascinating story about R.J. Corman and the development of his business operations on YouTube.

With the new ex NS SD70Ms coming online, Corman has been moving their SD40 fleet around to some of their other properties.
