Does anyone know if these will work on the genesis scale width hood or are they for the old blue box wide bodies? Precision Scale Co. Inc #3939 EMD dynamic brake Housing, 48" Dia. Fan for GP9

Not sure but it does not look like an entire dynamic brake housing to me. Its more like a rough looking 48" fan just sitting on a flat plate. It certainly would not enhance a model.

I think you're supposed to build up a square of plastic, underneath of that plate. That will allow you to use either an old wide hood shell, or a scale-width one. So there is that one small plus.

The sides to it are literally right under it, it's three pieces.
Athearn wide body GP9 shells came with dynamic brakes, with the top fan molded in and the side blisters a separate part. So it's probably not for one of those.

Might be for the Mantua/Tyco GP20, which didn't come with DB's. NOT a wide body, by the way.
