Sirs, Might anyone in the exhibition area be able to take any photographs of the show so we can enjoy the experience as well--please--. May 1st forty years back I drove a Royal Train and for the forty year celebration a special train was run and my fireman of the time was now the driver of it. Steam engine back and front then for the final run from Grosmont to Pickering the two steam engines hauled the train. A steam engine at each end initially as at Whitby it made it easier instead of de-training all the passengers while shunting the coaching stock into the run round loop.photo's later...jim brodie

Jim I rode the Grosmont to Pickering several times in the late 1996 to 2000 era. It is a nice run and provides some great scenes today with the steam powered trains. If I read your post correctly, you ran the Royal Train for the Forty year celebration. I would like to see pictures of that run if you have any. Thanks. Larry
