How about a switcher theme this week: Norfolk-Portsmouth Belt Line/NS MP15DC 2367 sits at Glenwood Yard in Raleigh, NC, on 10/20/2011 CSXT MP15AC 1188 sits with the stock cars from the Ringling Bros. circus train at the NC state fairgrounds in Raleigh on 2/6/2012. Coupled to the 1188 was the 2557, a GP38-2 built for the Durham and Southern Railway as their 2001, one of 4 D&S GP38-2's on the CSX roster, which are also the only 4 non-dynamic GP38-2's owned by CSX. CSXT 159 goes for a spin on the turntable at Johnson Street in Raleigh, NC, on 4/23/2012.

Atlas makes a Durham & Southern GP-38-2 #2001 in N scale, I have one. I know the D&S was taken over by the SCL, and thus became CSX. It's nice to see the "old girl" still earning her keep. I always wondered how the D&S escaped being part of the Southern/new NS, like the "old" Norfolk Southern. I spent summers as a kid around Wilson, NC. and saw the old NS Baldwins, and no I didn't have a camera, "dumb kid". Charley.

And for a wide and heavy load. I took the picture by the bridge since it was there I first waited for the train. This car has more axles than anything I had seen up to now. Larry

Yes Dave, Lots of cows...... I've never laid eyes on a prototype Calf, just seen pics of 'em. I have just a couple taken in '08, though I have taken several of the same switcher since then. It pretty much looks the same, depending on if it's been washed or not. This is the switcher leased by Murphy-Brown to work their mill yard of covered hoppers and inedible grease tank cars.
