I have a loco with Loksound Select. It will idle for about a minuet than automatically shut down the prime mover. Is there a way to turn off this function, or change the "sleep" time.
Sorry if this has already been covered elsewhere.
Thanks

I will dig out my manual on them, and post the cv number and value for manual startup and shutdown when I get home.

This engine is equipped with Auto Start which DOES have the engine shut down after a predetermined amount of time. The engine WILL automatically restart after it sits for a period as well. What engine / sound file is this referring to ? To change this, this would require a change to CV48. There are two different prime movers usually - one with auto-start and one without. You would need to add or subtract 16 from the value in CV48 depending on which one has the auto start feature enabled.
Mark.

Perfect. Thank you. In the case of the intermountain ES44AC this meant setting cv48 to a value of 37. This in combination with disabling the startup lag cv124 to a value of 0 (allowing the engine to move right away without waiting 25 seconds). Allowed me to consist with a Athearn Genesis SD70ACe.
Also master volume Inteountain set to 190 Genesis set to 105 seems to be a pretty good match up.

For the GEVO, for non-smart-start, with everything else set to default,I am showing cv48 to 26.

Interesting. Mine is one of the latest run and default for cv48 was 21. Gotta love it. Look pretty decent together, and now they run good together.

Something else I discovered. In this case the "Gutless" motors in the Intermountain ES44. Initially when I purchased this engine. I thought its lack of pulling power was due to lack of weight. When doing a Railmaster speaker upgrade, I found space for an extra Ounce of weight. After doing this I found that the locomotive would not even spin the wheels if you held it back. The motor would just hum due to lack of power. I was ready to chuck the drive train in the trash and re motor it with a Kato or NWSL motor. But I decided to tinker with Loksound first. Anyway, long story short-ish. If you set CV 56 (Back EMF - Dynamic Drive Control) to 255 (Default was 1). It really woke this engine up. I am not going to say it is the best puller I have, but it at least acts like other engines where the wheels will actually spin, even if the train its pulling it too heavy.
I am sure some more tweaking will be needed. but this is much more acceptable behavior.
