Jimaloooey, always liked the look of these units, the 1st "Standard" low nose GPs. Phelps-Dodge 38 was the 1st EMD low nosed unit, but it was sort of a one off that was copied by GMDD later, and a few roads like Western Maryland. have any of the SP units been preserved ? they are/were Historic units. did You use a GP18,or GP20 low nose and cab ? good looking unit. Spikre SP 3709 has been saved. www.psrm.org/trains/diesel/sp-3709/The nose and dynamic brake blister is from a P2K GP20, the Cab is from the original brown box GP18. The long hood is a brown box GP18 with Plano grilles and shutters. The fans are from the GP20, except the forward fan which is Cannon. The Bloomberg B's are Athearn. The rest is detail parts I added.
