It's been quiet on the forum for the last few days, but that would be expected for this time of year. I've been busy painting a bedroom and doing some other "honey do" things, so I haven't had much of a chance to get on here, but I'm still around.
I found another model railroader up here, but his stuff is all packed away. He's an HO scaler, and he says he has another couple of friends that like trains. I'm not going to get might hopes up yet, but it would be nice if I could get some people together and form a club. Right now, I'm just happy to have somebody outside of my family, to talk trains to.

We are having 100 degree weather so I am not getting a lot done until it cools this weekend. This has actually been a cool summer for the Sacramento area with no records being set. It is called summer here and it is hot! Yesterday about 4 PM, I did venture out for about 30 minutes to watch a train westbound into Roseville with one of the Union Pacific Heritage units in the consist. Since I was inside most of the day, I did rewrite one of my SSD disks to have a backup just in case. The Athearn announcement about the SD70Ace models is very interesting to know they will retool for the many changes of the lastest SD70Ace prototypes. I noticed the UP has installed the new communications box on the roof of the 1995 recently so that model will need corrections to be correct for the latest changes. Larry

Well, it is another Thursday and not too much is going on. I watched the video from the 2012 NMRA show and noticed the new with sound reefer cars coming soon from the Genesis line at $79 each. The sound is adjustable and seems to be an additional sound unit that I would pass on if I was modeling the latest era. I certainly hope they don't start including smell and offer the cattle cars or pig train with sound and smell!! Just a thought on a slow Thursday.
I did get to see some interesting locomotives around Roseville today. It is the annual old timers SP picnic and the CRSM E9 6051 is here along with the 1996 and 1983 Heritage units. It should be a nice show for the workers and retired workers!
