Ed, that's a 50s Hobbytown diagram. the 60s and later would feature Hobbytown Universals and the Big Flywheels, smaller DC70 family Motor. the dummy truck would also be gone by the time the 60s revisions were made. what ever, that front truck isn't Hobbytown, Lindsey or PSC. the Front Truck is Plastic and those are Metal trucks. the Gear boxes were also revised to have the sideframes screwed directly to them. the axles were changed to be Flush with the wheels, bearings were moved to the gearboxes. Tower Gears were moved Inside of the Gearboxes. Spikre

Ed, that's a 50s Hobbytown diagram. Yeah, I know. Which doesn't matter if the guy used the 50s truck I show. And how do you know it's plastic? Again, irrelevant if the guy used that early Hobbytown truck. Ed

?? Ed, tried to find the pic of the front truck, but couldn't. so will wait until another pic shows up. but do recall the Tyco E7 had a moter housing less motor for a dummy truck, and maybe their horrid Tri-Mount side frames,so we'll eliminate the Tyco for good. still what was seen looked like an AHM/Rivarossi or IHC/Yugo Plastic Casting. do hope the pics show up again. The truck in the diagram is exactly what was shown in the auction. No need to endlessly arguoe over it. Sideframes screwed to a simple top plate.

Sweet merciful crap! Somebody paid over $700.00 for it I believe W.C. Fields said, " never give a sucker an even break!!!" Something like that. The same guy has a lot of other things on Ebay The Bowser models are metal with brass according to his ad. I am always surprised at what can be sold. I have probably given away and tossed into the dump thousands of dollars in value in this is any indication of how to sell items. larry

We know it's not a model of anything real. It's a fantasy model. I think it's kinda pretty good/interesting. NOT great. Not excellent. So, I might have given a few bucks for it. As I think I said, $40. If it goes.
But if some other guy sees it as great art, he might feel like paying more. And if two guys do, there can be bidding. All it takes is two guys who think it's fantastic art to run up the money.
I'd NEVER pay that much.
I hope the winner is happy. No, really.

He probably thinks this is really something rare. Larry

One man's trash is another man's treasure. I've made tons of money from people tossing things because they didn't know any better or didn't care.
