Good morning. Still getting used to the smell of fresh paint. It's supposed to rain off and on all weekend, so that sounds like a good excuse, err, reason to hit the train room.

Good Morning bnsf971 and the rest of the group.
Short on time this morning, so breakfast is made up of the usual staples...... Coffees are fresh brewed, eggs any way you'd like. Plenty of bacon, sausages and ham on the grill. Sides of oatmeal, grits, hash browns or home fries. Drinks, milks & juices are in the cooler. Heading out the door in a few minutes to play taxi and do the grocery shopping, etc. Working tomorrow, so trying to get it all done today.
Do hope that one and all have a good day.

My wife and I got some time to work on the layout last night. She did some scenery around the Mansion on the Hill. I mostly did cleaning. Today it's back to work on the hospital's MRI trailer model. I'm in the process of drafting everything out, and then I have to shrink those measurements down to 1/24th scale. I'm already thinking that I should have had my head examined for taking on this job, and I'm sure that by the time I'm through, that task will need to be performed.

Good afternoon from sunny and warm Northeast Ohio. Managed to put together the cars I dull coated the previous night, which included trucks and couplers. Noted that I used the last of my couplers, so off went an order to MB Klein for more couplers. Also continued working on a 50' Branchline Boxcar adding all the detail parts. on the ends. Everybody have a good day!

Nice to see that this place is starting to take off.
Unfortunately, I'll have to leave my N Scale trains alone for the weekend as I have been invited around to a mate's place to work on his G scale layout for the weekend. Hope the weather holds out....

Good Fryday, Friday morning to all the Forum Folks. I see Terry's been by already. Hope you found something to hold you over. The stove is fired up and the coffees & teas are fresh brewed. Eggs are stacked and await your order. Bacons, sausages and ham slices are frying up on the grill. I even picked up a fresh pack of bologna for anyone wanting a fried bologna & egg sandwich. The hash browns, fried taters, grits 'n oatmeal are ready. Plenty of bread varieties for toast. A couple boxes of donuts, a tray of blueberry muffins and a bowl of fresh, cut up fruits round out the morning fare. If you don't see what you like, ask for it. There's bound to be something in the pantry! The liquid stuff is chilling in the cooler. After work, Adam & I took LD to get her nails done, did a bit of shopping, found a particular plant she'd been wanting and then took her to a favorite steakhouse for an early Mother's Day outing. That way she can spend the weekend at home, doing whateve she wants, or nothing!! Terry, will you still be able to run trains while your Zeyphr goes to the "hospital"? Hope that one and all have a good day.

I'm feeling a lot better than I did yesterday, though I'm still not up to full steam. I'm probably going to just hang loose an recuperate, meaning that I'll be running some trains.

Terry, will you still be able to run trains while your Zeyphr goes to the "hospital"? I only have an old MRC DC unit, so if I absolutely HAVE to run a train, it will have to be one that I haven't turned off the analog function on. Which isn't many... I think I have a Bachmann DCC on board 70 tonner that was more trouble than it was worth to figure out how to turn off analog.

Good Friday Morning to all you Forum Folks.
Coffee pots are full and it's fresh brewed.
Breakfast is ready when you are. All you need is to order your eggs the way you like 'em. The bacon, sausages and ham slices are warming in the grill. Plenty of hash browns, grits or oatmeal. Biscuits are baked, donuts are on the counter as is the fresh fruit. Drinks are in the cooler.
Plenty of rain fell after sunset, last night. Things are damp and it's humid. Not sure about any rain today, but now it's forecast for the weekend. 40% & 30%, respectively. I did get out and run trains for a while last night. I had two running the full mainline, one following the other at a safe distance, traveling East. I then ran a train in the opposite direction, taking sidings and holding, if necessary, for the Eastbound trains. As all turnouts are manual, I had to move a bit, but there was no "hurrying" involved. Had the Westbound needed to do any switching, then I would have had a few problems. It was a good way to spend the evening de-stressing, while it rained. Needed to de-stress. I may be working Saturday, again, but won't know until late tonight. Can't make any plans, that way. Plus I'll be working on Sunday afternoon. Both part-timers scheduled to work, had things come up this week. Not sure if we'll get the household shopping done tonight. If not, It'll have to be Sunday morning.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning. I finally got around to ballasting my yard last night. I still have a ton of detail work to do, but it now actually feels like a world instead of train track on wood. It's raining again today, so that means that I just might have to spend more time in the train room.

I spent the morning watching trains after I read the lineup stated that 5 westbound trains were in front of Amtrak #5 into Roseville and it proved to be a great morning seeing four of those, one northbound and # 6 eastbound in just about 60 minutes. There were some light power movements around Roseville also so it was a fun 60 minutes or so. I skipped the rest as I had some other things to get done today. I came home later and ran one of the Big Boys and an AC6 just to check out some more sound models. Larry

The Last Friday in May, 5/25/12.
Good Friday Morning to all the Forum Folks.
It's once again, Friday and the end(?) of the workweek. Coffees are fresh brewed, while the morning's specialty is a western style omelette. However, order up your favorite. Plenty of bacon, ham and sausages to go with it, while the pans of oatmeal and grits warm on the stove. Muffins, biscuits and bread for taoasting are on the counter and all manner of cold drinks are in the cooler. Order up, dig in and relax before the workday begins.
Busy day yesterday, so didn't get by till late evening lasst night. The lawn needs mowing, so if it doesn't rain today or tomorrow, I will try to do that this evening or tomorrow morning before it gets hot. We're not quite into summer temps, but the low 80's with the attendant humidities are giving us a taste of it. At least we're still getting down to the mid and upper 60's at night. If I don't mow this evening, I may get to the trains for a bit, as I have to pick Adam up from work at 11:00 tonight.
Hope that everyone has a good day.

Good day to all. I'm finally working with plastic on the MRI trailer model. If any child ever comes up to me and says that all the math their learning is school will never be used, I'll just show them all the figures I did on this model.
I've also got the new bridge back on the workbench. I've got to do some detailing on it, in places where there's no room for detail. I should just skip it, but it looks so cool on the layout.

My day was not so great for pictures as we have a weather system moving in for tonight. Snow is forecasted for the Sierra's above 5500 feet so the Union Pacific sent a flanger set to Sparks yesterday. I don't think it will have to be used unless some areas above 5500' get some drifts in fills. This is Memorial Day weekend so I hope to get on the Hill later on and get some pictures of trains in action.
We will have our flags up and have some small ones on the lawn this weekend to honor the past fallen who have protected us and allowed us to be free. Thanks to everyone who have served. I purchased my first house on the GI bill. Larry

It's quiet around here, but then, I've noticed that on all of the forums. It looks like good weather is taking its toll. This brings up some huge concerns. If we have less people here, do we still have to supply Dee with the same amount of bananas, and when the people return in the fall, will she want even more?

Good evening. I'm away from home, and internet access has been kind of spotty. There was a series of pretty strong storms through here this morning, but they seem to have moved East. On the train front, I visited a new to me hobby shop. It was small, and didn't have a whole lot, but I was able to pick up a replacement decoder for a brand new one that smoked as soon as I plugged it in. With any luck I won't let the factory smoke out of it, as well.

Good Evening Douglas and Terry. Wednesday was a 9+ hour rain event and yesterday was a long shift, followed by having to drive to Wilmington (NC) to take care of some things. didn't get home till 9:00 p.m. Today was another hectic and long day. Just now getting time to do anything worthwhile on the computer. Douglas, I believe Miss Dee's banana ration is pretty steady, but darned if I can find a reliable termite supplier. Terry, Hope the decoder situation goes well. I have one loco that let the magic smoke out twice, before I figured out why and it has an 8-pin plug and is DCC compatible!!!

Mike, I've had that "automatic magic smoke release" option on a couple of RTR Athearns, but this was an Atlas. After the smoke came out, the decoder still works, but the lights don't. It does have a nice scorch mark on the cover of the decoder. Postage is more than the replacement decoder, so I'll probably put it in a B unit at some point.

Funny you should mention Athearn, RTR locos as culprits on two occasions. The magic smoke came out twice on the same Athearn, RTR, SW-1000 I own. Once I figured out why, and put a decoder in, it still doesn't run right, headlights don't work, handrail parts are missing & broken and when I tried to get replacements when it 1st came out & I bought it, no parts were available. Been a couple years ago, now, I'm sure, but not sure I even want bother with it anymore. The body looks great, but I don't want a dummy to push/drag around either. SIGH!!
