Center pivot irrigation wheel. For everyone who has a warehouse sized layout and wants one of those big circular crop fields.
Any one else?

I'll take them. Center pivots are all over my area. Contrary to the name many only cover say a 90 or 180 degree arch of a field. Don't need a Yuge layout as they can be placed in a field along the fence of the right of way so they are up by the backdrop or the very front of the shelf layout. I would estimate about 3"-4" wide by what ever length you want to model. I have seen them as short as 2-3 sections long. I wonder if they can be broken down to a freight car load also. Where do you see the announcement as I didn't see it on their website?

NO room for one in my mountains, but if I had the flats, I might photograph one and put it on the background. That would assure the weathering is prototypical.

"Irrigation product" seems like a pretty narrow field. Yuk, yuk. Anyway, their current wheeled irrigation pipe thingy is really nice looking. Perhaps they should do some of those irrigation gates for those modelers doing canal irrigation: With those, you won't need a whole field for a setup--you could have a parallel dirt road and canal. Is ExactRail planning on offering another irrigation product? Their irrigation wheel is still available after 3 or 4 years and is currently on-sale. Rob Spangler incorporated the wheel on his layout in a fairly small scene.

Most layouts including an irrigation wheel look very cliched. Rob Spangler pulled it off very convincingly. Pelle Søeborg and Tony Koester could do it too. But most layouts don't need one.

Thanks, Colin! Here's mine. I do think this detail could fit on a lot of layouts, as wheel line and center pivot irrigators are all over the western US, and frequently close to the tracks. Sections are often placed along right of way fences, and the pivots for the larger irrigators can also be found on the edges of fields by the tracks. The fact that so few modelers seek to include these details may be largely due to lack of observation, with a side of poor scenery design. www.railpictures.net/photo/300389/railpictures.net/photo/589293/railpictures.net/photo/596236/The above are some locations in Utah, but there are plenty of others that could be equally modelable.

I started scratchbuilding one a few years ago, never really got the scene finished before a move forced me to tear the layout down. Here's a picture of my effort.

That looks great! The area I model (just across the border in southern Manitoba) has many scenes just like that where one is positioned trackside.
(I'm assuming the original thread was in jest in response to all of the "next ScaleTrains..." threads and not an actual teaser/announcement from ExactRail?)
