Good morning. It looks like Fall is here. It's 55, supposed to get down to 45 tonight. I programmed my new ES44 yesterday, and it now is mate to the one I already had. I had some problems with my iPad after the big update Thursday, tried restoring it, and ended up bricking it. I returned it, and got a new one--without the new OS. It'll be a long time before I update it...

Good day everybody. Terry, that's our normal highs for summer. I'm enjoying a day away from the rains. Much of the state has been hit hard with flooding, and we had to call off a jam session last night because of flooding between here and there. I've been very busy this summer with house remodeling, so not much time has been spent with the layout. Hopefully that will change over the next couple of months.

Hello Terry and the rest of the Forum Folks.
A pleasant day on tap. Temps will get to the upper 70's today & tomorrow, then start warming up a bit on Wednesday. Had a pretty good weekend, but didn't spend as much time with the trains as I'd have liked. I'm going to try to get out back again for a while this evening.

Doug That normal high of 55 sure seems cool to me since our weather is still close to 90 each evening. It is fall and the temperature here is very nice but soon we will have some cold weather coming up. We are going to chase the 844 west over Donner on Thursday and the morning temperatures around Truckee have been around 33 each morning but warms up to the 70's in the daytime. We will have to have a jacket for the morning wait to see the 844 coming West. We are hoping for a great snow year on the Hill to demand the Rotary to clear the tracks again like they did two years ago. Larry

Larry, the pics you shared last week are very nice. Certainly looking forward to the pics you manage to snag on this railfanning venture. I'm not ready for any temps in the 30's, just yet.

Good evening to all the Forum Folks
After an early morning callout, spent the daylight portion of the morning taking LD to the Dr. and then to the store to get her meds the doc prescribed. She's got bronchitis. Hopefully by this time tomorrow she'll be getting better. No train time last night and probably none tonight, either, other than a quick run out back to reset the MP-15DC decoders to factory defaults to see if that will fix the problem. I'm not hopeful, as I've already tried that with one, but the guy from Atlas asked me to do it to all of them before we proceed to the next phase. He called while I was in the waiting room at the doc's office. that should only take me 10 to 15 minutes. Not sure what LD will want for supper, but I'll make/go get whatever she wants.
Hope everyone had a good day.

Morning nice peepelz, Modoms cancer operation was a success no traces left anywhere-thank you for prayers offered. While staying at York where the hospital is (York as in Yorkshire England) I have part built the 0 scale wooden kit for the N&W Drovers Waycar. need to pluck up the courage now to start sanding the 'royal end' of the clerestory roof. only need do one end as the other end is flush with the semi flat roof of the cabooses cupola. need to find some Pullman style coach bogies (trucks) I only have some 1/43rd patterns off some of my GWR (spit) supplies. Once I have mastered the clerestory ends I shall mix a few of these oldies coaches with some of the longer heavyweights. I haven't yet mastered the photo bucket unless I can e mail some photos to any of you kind souls who could then show them for me. I gather some of these old wooden sided coaches were sheeted over on the sides to make them flush sided like the Pullmans in England were treated to. I like my matchboard sided Pullmans though. My Queen of Scots was new built flush sided but the Yorkshire Pullman had a mix of sides. Anyway I digress---nice to be back and once Modom is back on her feet I hope to restart building the layout in the garage. My use of the term coach as in English covers all variations of passenger vehicles. it now seems I have to add the N&W to my railway world! Jim.....67281.

James, I'm glad the operation was a success. The drover's car project sounds very cool.
