Unless Tom finally repaired his ALPs printer, he is out of business. There was a stink several years ago of taking money for orders, but no decals delivered. Buyer beware. I am happy I got what I needed/ordered.

I'm trying to think positively. His website says it was updated recently.
In 2011.

I tried to email, and it came back as undeliverable. Where can you go for custom decals?

A couple of years ago, there was a report on some other forum, that the local sheriff has seized all of his assets due to some ongoing legal action. I believe it either involved mail fraud, back taxes, or something else related to fraudulently accepting money from customers.

According to their website: "Rail Graphics will cease operations on December 31, 2017. We will not accept orders AFTER December 1, 2017."

I tried to email, and it came back as undeliverable. Where can you go for custom decals? Maybe give Don Tichy an email? I don't have any first-hand knowledge of his decal work but he generally makes a quality product. TICHY DECAL CATALOGScroll down to page 49 or so for custom order requirements. Good Luck,Ed

While I have no experience with Precision Designs custom products, I wasn't impressed with the quality of a couple of their stock decal sets for the $15 price.

Maybe give Don Tichy an email? I don't have any first-hand knowledge of his decal work but he generally makes a quality product. TICHY DECAL CATALOGAre Tichy's any good? I ordered a few sets a couple years ago and the lettering seemed three-dimensional, as if they were printed in the same material that the Archer rivet decals are made of. I never did try to use them which was disappointing since I bought several sets.

I have an email into Highball Graphics, just waiting to hear back. I still have two sets of the decals, hoping someone can make a custom set from these. I briefly considered getting an Okidata C924, I mean how expensive could it be to add one more color? Once I found out, the briefly was over with.

While I have no experience with Precision Designs custom products, I wasn't impressed with the quality of a couple of their stock decal sets for the $15 price. That is correct. I had him do some tire decals for my vehicle modeling about a year ago. White walls and white letter tires. A bit fuzzy, but they worked for me at the time. He told me about the new printer recently, so I ordered another set of tire decals, and the sharpness is very much improved.

Are Tichy's any good? I ordered a few sets a couple years ago and the lettering seemed three-dimensional, as if they were printed in the same material that the Archer rivet decals are made of. I never did try to use them which was disappointing since I bought several sets. I recently bought a set of Tichy; and I, too, thought the letters were way too three dimensional. Too bad, because they would correctly letter a correct SP&S flat. Quelle bumheur! Ed

How much is due to the fact that the "custom" decals are made using a printer vs screen printed like decals in large numbers (and what we are used to)?
The Alps printer worked almost like the "white out" correction tape.

Not many people seem to be aware of this, but Kadee also do custom decals. I'd expect a high quality product from them, but I haven't used this service. kadee.com/htmbord/custom.htm
