Thanks for the update, Bill.
I caught the last item about moving the factory — (!) Is there a back-story to that? Will you have to re-TRAIN staff or will the work-force relocate, too?
Just curious, Thanks Ed

We have two factories - Rapido and LRC. We opened the Rapido factory in 2013. LRC factory in 2016. Both are in Dongguan.
The Rapido factory was in a district that had a lot of dust, so we moved to another part of town earlier this year... but the labour costs in the new part of town are really, really high. There is a labour shortage and you have to offer tonnes of perks to keep workers for more than a couple of weeks. It costs a lot of money to train a new worker. It sucks when they leave after a month because the factory down the street offered $100 more a month. We didn't know this when we moved.
Our first thought now was to move it to the industry park with the LRC factory, but LRC was among the first tenants in that park and since last year the rent has gone up by 50%! Thank God we signed a multi-year lease.
So we're looking at moving the Rapido factory out of Dongguan altogether.
-Jason

Ouch! Those are the kinds of issues that have to result in some sleepless nights for you. Thanks for the explanation... I hope you can finally find some stability in your production process. I appreciate the frequent "peeks behind the curtain" at your operation. Regards, Ed PS My pair of B&O FPA-2s arrived Thursday and look terriffic! Keep up the good work

I'm liking the buses more and more. Would love to see a basic School bus at some point...with a Ford L9000 chassis?

I have to say the under body details on the mid-train dome cars are jaw-dropping impressive; wow!
Also really enjoyed the update on the 1:1 RDC project. So, what is the disposition of all the RDCs surrounding #6133? If they are to be scrapped, are you allowed to salvage parts before they get destroyed?
Thanks for the updates. Rapido rocks!
Mark

I know I can't wait for the NH Parlors. I might have just a few on order...'cause, you know, you've got to have green Parlors to match steam/PA-1's and orange Parlors to match the Rapido FL9's/EP-5's...and one needs at least one Parlor-Lounge to go with each scheme. And while only the Merchants Limited or the Yankee Clipper had more than 3 Parlors, almost every "name train" on the NH had at least one Parlor. The Parlor cars are simply a must for any post-1948 NH passenger train modeler.

Yep, the biggest chassis's there are F750's. What's cool about school buses is if one tools the front clip separately one can do front clips for International/Navistar, Chevy, GMC, or Ford.

Yes, but a REAL school bus was made by either Crown Coach or an honorable mention to Gillig. Must feel sorry for everyone who had to ride a Blue-turd to school.

We had never heard of those brands where I lived. The three in our area were Superior, Carpenter, and Thomas.
