Hi guys, We've uploaded a new video showing production samples of the new Amtrak NPCU Cabbages. They are en route and expected in our warehouse in a couple of weeks. Here it is: Thanks for watching! -Jason

Now that Jordan Smith is president and CEO, maybe He'll make the Rohr Turboliner a priority!

That looks fantastic! I desperately want to buy one of the modernized F40PHs, but it looks like they were all in captive service in the Northeast during the period I model (when I would want them to run on the Capitol Limited in Maryland). I have to have a Cabbage though, so I’ll be getting a Phase III when they arrive!

We're seriously considering the next iteration of the Amtrak F40PH, which has taken on a new angle with our announcement of the Tempo cars (perfect for the Amtrak Ski Train). We're getting hammered with requests for this classic locomotive and car combo so it's looking much more likely that this will happen now. We just want to see what the feedback from distributors and dealers on the current phase I F40PH with ditch lights is first.

If you sold all produced; that's excellent (and I really hope it was profitable for Rapido :-) ). In my mind, I honestly didn't think a huge number would go, given that there were only 30 before the conversion, and even less later (NPCU), and even then they only run in pockets of the system. But then, any F40 by Rapido is a good F40! The as-delivered (see what I did there) Phase II, IIa, and III for Amtrak alone had a slightly larger dispersal pattern given the number of units. -Tom
EDIT: Unrelated; I'm more eagerly awaiting the Flexi-Flo info.. could use a good 4 or 5 of 'em. Much thanks there.

Gareth, it sounds like you’re saying that I need to buy a modernized F40PH in order to support the future later phases. I may be convinced...
Edit: I broke down and ordered a modernized F40PH. The model looks fantastic in the photos, and it’s always been my favorite Amtrak diesel. I have to have an example of this model. It will venture out of the Northeast for occasional runs on the Capitol Limited. I’ll be keeping an eye out for the Cabbage, even if it breaks the Hobby budget!

Thank heaven I could care less about these... I do have lots of FA-2's on order, along with two Royal Hudsons, and a N scale Turbotrain. I'm also developing an interest in the New Haven, so FL9's and an EP-5 are looking likely. With my luck it will all ship at once... Jeff C

Throw in a vote for the ARR flavor of Cabbages as well!
