Several years ago I modified a Tyco Kenworth cab and grille and mated it to a scratchbuilt chassis to make a Jifflox equipped tractor decorated for Pacific Intermountain Express. I have made use of Athearn RTR (former Rail Power Products) trailers to model the rig, but to truly do it right bullnose trailers are required. So awhile back I 3D printed a test trailer to see if it could be done. It can, but it's not cheap. Earlier this week I finally finished creating decal artwork for this trailer since the Microscale decals aren't the right size for a pup (and I needed the HEIGHT 13' 6" decal). I tried printing it on my laser printer but it jammed, so I had FedEx Office do it. Wow! They knocked it out of the park. I wish it were a bit more opaque but the color and clarity of the decals are outstanding. I used Bare Metal Foil paper, which has a nice thin carrier film. I printed more than I need, in case I screwed the decals up, but now that just means I need to print more trailers for the extra decals.

I really like the P.I.E. set of doubles Ryan - I would see them here in Washington State when I was younger. I'm way into building the F60KH, so here are some oldies. Have a great week! Mark Hills Alco Models brass 29K brass tank car, rebuilt with Plano parts. Moloco RBL Atlas RBL

Thanks, Mark! I've drawn several different variations of these Trailmobile bullnose pups. At some point I'll print ribbed side trailers for Transcon as well as some ribbed and more fluted side in P-I-E's schemes. I'd love to track down some good photos of Fruehauf bullnose trailers, but no luck so far.
I love that tank car, by the way!

Since I am not doing much modeling right now I took a picture of my new Athearn FP7's that I got on sale serving as emergency power for the Broadway Limited. Taken at the Strongsville Model Railroad Club layout. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowsk

One down 28 more to go. This is the first of 29 Tangent PS-3 hoppers I finished this weekend. All 29 were first stripped and painted. Now one a week will get the decal work. The only changes I made other than stripping and repainting is I used Kato 70 ton roller bearing trucks. I added 1/4 ounce weight at each end of the coal load to bring the car to 5 oz. Brian

Finally after 2-3 years of not running trains the CNW is back running. How do you insert images from your files keeps telling me mine is too large but I have before on other forums?

Fantastic work Mark! When a project breeds extra work: I'm working on turning an Athearn 50' flat into a more accurate EL car, and while looking at some pictures I came to the realization that I missed the release rods on my Erie 53' car. Checking more prototypes revealed I needed to add them to all my Intermountain flats while I was at it: There's not that much detail on a flatcar, so I might as well take advantage of what I can! Still at it for today, I'm on a schedule given the Mid-Atlantic RPM (my first!) is fast approaching. More to come later...

I would suggest uploading your pics to a photo hosting site like imgur, they handle your large photos and make it possible to post here.

Finally finished up my 3 BN Eel River cars, also dug out my existing examples. Unfortunately 1 of my SP and my SSW car are in need of some "help" I may fix them up at a later time once I find some suitable wire, ladders, and cushion pockets. Also posed them with a DRGW RBL (I'm guessing they could be used for beer) at my local MR club I've also been doing some more LED installs in some athearn engines. I had done this GP15's headlight and rearlight already (using some acrylic rod, a normal 3mm LED, and a pice of aluminum tubing), but I couldn't figure out how to do the gyralight. I picked up some Monster LEDs and it worked soo easily (wishing I had done that from the beginning). Now to replace the windshield wipers and lift rings on this and it's sibling (excuse my workbench for being a mess): deaconmark , imgur and photobucket are both useable for that purpose. @brain, The BN coal car looks good. I'm curious what decals you used though. I have to renumber and change some dates on several Walthers, Athearn, and modified MDC coal gondolas.

One very riveting task later: There have been a few times I realized my fleet is lacking in a particular type or region of car. This gets stuck in my head deeper than it should and I end up going overboard, or at least needing to balance things with more typical for me cars. This was the case with flatcars, when one or two became almost two dozen, and I thought "flatcars are easy, I'll just do a few more while I'm at it." EASIER, maybe, than other cars, but perfectionists know no other way. At least when I'm done I shouldn't need to build another flatcar unless I really want to! Fortunately I'm about 1/3 of the way through the endeavor, and a big chunk will be assembly-lining Proto WM flats. Maybe printing a few 50-footers, because this Athearn job is a one-time deal. Then it's on to tank cars?

Had most of Saturday to decal some cars; Made some progress on my batch of FMC 5077s. All are built from Undec Atlas kits, with the exception of one, which was a stripped RTR.

Packer, those Eel River cars are looking good. They're also fun to build. I used to have a handful of them but now I'm down to only one. A few years ago my friend Dave showed me his Exactrail car next to mine and I was hooked. Six out of my nine beer cars are now Exactrail. I would recommend replacing the ladders with Exactrail parts and the coupler pockets with Moloco parts. Exactrail also makes some nice side mount stirrups.

Well I think I have the images figured out and it is not Sunday but I have the CNW back running after just letting the layout sit for 2-3 years. It is pretty good size 2 mainlines dogbone with 180 ft mainlines
