Hi guys, While Jordan, Dan and Josh were off to Trainfest fun, I was stuck here editing the RS-11 video. And here it is: The order deadline is November 19th. Full info is here: www.rapidotrains.com/ho-alco-rs11/Thanks for watching! Jason

Not diggin the cab height above the hood roof. Seems the American version is lower than the Canadien version. And I've looked at both on different picture sites.

Good stuff, but will they have the correct coupler pockets? Out of the units in this run, only the SP had the style on the models.

Quickies is an understatement. The video was so quick most of it was out of focus, almost useless. One get a better pointer, second get a new cameraman who doesn't whip the camera around, worst video ever! Maybe you quickie was being filmed in light years!

Not buying it if some things are left wrong. Getting really picky about spending my money on stuff that is wrong anymore. Greg

The etched diamond plate is nice - but boy is it out of scale. Very noticeable on the SW1200RS's, where the etched stuff is twice the size of the tooled plate on the battery boxes.

When Dan is back from Trainfest we will examine the cab roof vs. the 3D scans and field measurements. If we have to fix the RS-11 cab before production, we will. A "pre-production model" means it is not yet finished. Those who know Rapido products and history know that we don't just brush off valid concerns. And Stephen, if you really think our RS-11 video was the "worst video ever," then I have to wonder if you're ever watched YouTube before... -Jason

I have to agree about the cab height, I have a good feeling that Jason and company will get to work on checking that item.
I also noticed the second time around that the N&W unit does not have the steps in the notch on the long hood. Might want to check that also.
I am still undecided on ordering and undecorated.

Jason, Looks great to me. I will be ordering until it hurts my billfold. Hope you do many more road names and paint jobs. This is one of my favorite engines.

Full info is here: www.rapidotrains.com/ho-alco-rs11/Thanks for watching! Jason Jason, double check the size of the opening for the red UDE light on the SP version. That opening is way too huge, the light might be too big. Walthers gets theirs way too large, don't want to see you do that also. I've got 4 of the damned things on order....;-) Dave

Here's a quick look at the cab height: No difference that I can see between US and CA roads. At this point we don't know if the cab height or the hood height is off.

It's definitely the RS-11 cab - all of them. The prototype is 3-4" lower than the RS-18, and the curve radius is different. The hood is the correct height. We traced the 3D scan and verified using field measurements. We are remaking the RS-11 cab. -Jason

Jason
Thank You for looking into this and making the changes. I hope to order the N&W undecorated soon. So far I am very happy with my Rapido purchases and waiting now for this RS11 and my B36-7!

You have zero issue fixing things when they need fixing and you own up to it when something like this happens.

Looks like it will be a great model with all the detail variations and continued effort to make fixes as needed. But ... no Janet. #notscaredofjanet #alittlegratuitousisokay

I have a CP RS-18 pre-ordered but would like an NP RS-11.
So if a second run is warranted how about the Northern Pacific versions? NP had units with and without dynamic brakes.

Northern Pacific only just didn't make it into the first run so it's pretty much top of the list for the next run. Well, second actually, RS-11 project manager Dan D is more into the DW&P units, but they'll happen! -Rapido Gareth

Speaking of which, I'm thinking hard about another NW for that reason.

I already ordered two of the SPs. I am impressed with Rapido's attention to detail and their response to consumer input about improving their product.

Rick Jesionowski You do know that it doesn't matter how many of a prototype railroad had, if nobody wants a model of it, right? Just checked there are no Athearn Genesis NKP GP9's available anywhere, they were sold out. NKP modelers want them, I would take one of each number produced just like when the Athearn GP9's came out, waiting on my Bowser RS-3's. Rick Jesionowski

Why etched walkways? That seems like another thing to pop loose like etched running boards on freight cars. They appear to be coming loose and the pattern oversized on the model in the video .
