Those Horizons will bankrupt me. Now, I eagerly await the later phase Cabbages to go with them

The Phase IVb Horizons look tempting but I need a locomotive...of equal quality...to pull them.
The CSX F40 ph's will be welcome additions but I need to come up with Executive cars of equal quality.

After not a single offering of interest to me since they started, they finally announce 5 different products I've been waiting 30 years for.
Would have been nice to have them spread out over time, but I have at least a year to justify spending that much.

Pssst... Um, not for nothin', but there appears to be an error somewhere. The new Newsletter quotes the "Comet" car prices as: HO 3-car set: $329.95 However, when you go to the Rapido website, the prices are: HO 3-car set: $319.95 Is this the "Higher... In... Canada." price?

I can't wait for these!! Between the Amtrak and the commuter version, I'm going to need a second job. If and when Rapido announces the center door models, I'm officially taking a second mortgage on the house.

Rapido's MBTA Commuter Rail coaches and cab cars will be a big improvement over the ones Walthers produced years ago, which had the purple color entirely wrong -- it was more like pink -- and were not good runners. I haven't yet gotten around to applying proper purple to them, using either paint or decals. A matching Rapido F40PH is also tempting.
The USRA double-sheathed boxcars will also be great. In my case, I'd hope to use Boston & Maine and Lackawanna cars to replace earlier Ertl versions and ones built from Accurail kits.

Over the years, the Horizon cars have remained largely unchanged from their as-built appearance, with the only predominant visual differences being the evolution of the Amtrak paint schemes from Phase III through Phase IVb. However, two key changes that have occurred include the replacement of the original power sliding doors with manually-operated parlor doors, and the replacement of the fold-down stairs with fixed steps. We're making both versions, of course. The more-recent paint jobs of the Horizons (Ph. IV? Ph. VI?) include a nice coat of gray paint over the brushed aluminum carbody (supposedly the unpainted aluminum surface was prone to collecting dirt and was difficult to clean). The difference was quite noticeable especially when unpainted and painted cars were mixed on the same train. Will the models feature this difference?

What are the chances of seeing the last two ski train cars we need for a complete consist? The Shavano peak coach snack and the Idaho springs club?
Maybe an add on 2 pack if you get enough reservations?
I already reserved the whole set and the locos through my local dealer.

Oh how I would love to have some Rapido High Hood B23-7's and B30-7A1's in Southern or NS. Also, Jason the correct lift holes for Southern and NS doesn't really bother me that much but to see it done correctly would be nice, my B36-7 is still ordered. How about the M420W? ?

Holy Baby Tunnelmotors, Batman!!! I remember seeing my first GP15-1 many many moons ago in Oklahoma when I was there at my brief tenure at OU (go Sooners!). I thought the same thing! Who shrunk those tunnel motors I was seeing in California on the SP?

I can only imagine the four axle lash ups I could re-create with a Rapido B23-7...

How about the M420W? ? A number of years ago I asked a Rapido rep about that at a show, but back then it was rumoured that Bowser was going to produce an M420. I suspect Rapido didn't want to take the risk of pouring money into a project that would be second-to-market. And a limited market at that. Well, it's been years and still no M420. Maybe it's time to reconsider? Rapido did that with the SW1200RS after the Trueline Trains debacle finally played out.
