Was looking for information on their upcoming ACF 5250 model. Maybe next month? Yes. Many of us have been waiting for a modern tooled 5250to replace the tired Athearn model. Looks like the batch of freight cars is more for the modern people.

Nice to see them finally announce the TBOX that they had been teasing.

Yup. I think they'll do very well with those.

Not in the catalog itself, but in a separate flyer mentioned in the e-mails Atlas sent out a little later this afternoon or early evening, are a whole lot of Coca-Cola trucks, including a few in HO.

Wish they would do a early phase 1 U30c for the PRR/RDG and D&H fans out here --- Ken

Glad I dont need any of those new boxcars...ouch... I decided to switch eras back to 1980-82, that way I can jump off the TBOX treadmill.

Wish they would do a early phase 1 U30c for the PRR/RDG and D&H fans out here --- Ken Kitbash city unfortunately...Proto long hood and cab spliced onto the Atlas walkway, nose and 'steam generator' part of the hood directly behind the cab. Fairly straightforward depending on how fussy you want to get.

IMO, 1980-82 has some interesting pluses such as cabooses, colorful IPD cars all over the place, 40' trailers the norm with 85 and 89' flat cars, but 45' trailers transitioning in. There were still a fair number of fallen flag and 40' box cars.

When I looked at the announcement wanting to see if they had done the U30C in Southern but alas. I have several to rebuild already.
Craig that is one nice U30C in PC. I do wish Atlas would do the high brake cylinder version needed for Southern U33C's. Jim, I have to agree with you which is why I moved by timeframe to the mid 1980's after the merger to form NS. That way I can have Southern, N&W and NS paint schemes.

I didn't see anything too exciting to put in for without anyone requesting it. The boxcar is nice but $40-$45 street price I don't see selling them by the dozen.

I'm willing to pay $40-45 for Tangent box cars but Atlas not as much. Those Tbox have an MSRP of $59.95 which is what you pay direct on Atlas website. Whoa!

The other issue on them - and let's not sidetrack this into politics - but they note right in the catalog the price is subject to change due to potential tariff. That puts me in a bind as a vendor as I can't guarantee them at $42 when they show up, they might end up $45 or more.
