Jason,
Maybe you should have used that song by Bett Midler, "Wind Beneath My Wings" heh heh.
Dick Van Dyke, school of bad accents. I think he was voted to be among the top two worst accents of all time (Mary Poppins cocknye accent).
In defense of B units, I never really thought F7A units looked good very good alone - the need at least one B unit. And just for the record, I believe I have nearly as many B units as I do A, pretty close to parity!

Those CN F9B's sure have some funky steam generator exhaust stacks.
Also interesting is the GMD built the F9B's with the boiler in the front of the unit instead of the rear like EMD. On the U.S. built passenger B's, the boiler was in the rear and the space in the front of the unit where the cab should be would have a large water tank. The non-dynamic steam generator equipped B's and A's had the option of water tank in the non-dynamic panel.
Most U.S. built F-unit B-units had hostler controls, do the Canadian built B's have hostler controls?

"Bob" obviously never worked anywhere near the Haysi RR... Is that the B unit I saw an article on (modeling article) but had prototype pictures with the B unit set up for regular operation - a window was installed in the end so an Engineer could see out the front and drive it sort of like an A unit? That was one interesting B/A unit!

That was one interesting B/A unit! That be the one. clinchfieldcountry.com/photos/haysi.htm Note that it got a full first-generation control stand, and seat. This unit is now at TVRM pending restoration. Hopefully they will let it retain its modifications.

Twinkies!! Did Hostess finally give up the ghost? My wifes daughter made a special request for Twinkies when I flew over to England 4 years ago. Who would have thunk a few years later Twinkies, the iconic cake featured in wal-E would be threatened with extinction!
Jason,
Normally my inclination would be to go "south of the border" cause I love Mexican food. But your lovely B unit makes me tempted to go "north of the border" for a Canadian B unit, to the "Great White North!!!" and you don't know how much I hate snow!
csx, thats the one! She's looking pretty sorry there, hopefully someone will rescue her!

Take off, hosers." Those are some nice B's. The CP's units reportedly had hostler controls, I'd assume the CN ones did too.
