Good evening. We've been out of town traveling, and just got back. I'm about beat, so I'll probably do a quick scan through the forums and see what havoc has been wreaked. Everybody have a good week.

Terry The forum seems to be slow at this time but that is probably due to the Christmas Season. None of my projects are getting done and the weather has been cold and rain on and off in Northern California. Good to have you back. larry

Good evening Terry and the rest of the Forum Folks.
Been raining on/off all day long, but close to 60F. More rain on tap through early tomorrow morning. No heavy stuff, just light to moderate showers. I did get out back for just a little while last night and ran a "quiet" train. Was fun to listen to the wheels as they clicked & clacked across the rail joints and turnout frogs. Managed to get a lot of Admin stuff done today.

We're preparing for a blizzard here. I guess that we needed a reminder that this is Alaska. Hopefully, I'll get a chance to go up to the train room, and forget about what's going on outside.

Douglas, I feel for you. I'm hoping to see no snow this winter, but around here, one can never be certain. Been busy at work, but fortunately not with crimes. Did have a lady stop in yesterday to report she either lost or had stolen some cash and a check from her purse at 1 of 3 locations. 1 of which wasn't in town. All I could do was take a report and wish her well. Sometime after I was off duty, she stopped by the PD to report she had found the money & cash. Apparently she misplaced it, but where, I have no clue. Thankfully, she isn't out her money. Hope that all the Forum Folks are having a good week.

The fastest way to get an item returned is to report it stolen. You will remember where you left it while on your way home from the police station.

LOL!! ;D What I like even better, Terry, is to find something before the owner realizes it's missing. Then when they come to report it lost/stolen, we already have it. At least if it is something without an ID attached. Not too long ago, I had to call several numbers in an address book to try and find the owner of a purse. One of the numbers had a very derogatory term listed next to it. Turned out it was her ex-husband, but at least he got us a number to reach her so we could return it.

Mike That is ironic that the person's with the derogatory name was the one who helped get her purse back. Maybe he was not so bad after all. It takes two persons to have a proper argument. Larry

Quite true, Larry, however, I wasn't about to open up any cans of worms by inquiring! Just happy to return something back to it's owner. Coolish temps Down Eat, with light breezes after some strong, gusty and chilly winds, yesterday. We had heavy hors'dourves(sp?)(too lazy to look it up, too ) at the Town Hall, before they were all gone till next Wednesday. Apparently our Town Hall/Public Works folks are the only ones in the County working on Wednesday. As we don't get those days off anyway, it doesn't matter much to us officers. My Capt. and I agreed to her taking Monday off and I'm taking Christmas off, though LD is working her usual schedule of 7 - 3. LD and our daughter, Nicole, spent the best part of the day baking cookies. Adam headed off to work early afternoon and I spent the time sorting through all the brass (shell casings) I have collected up from my last 3 visits to the range. Friday was like an early Christmas for me. 1st off, the gun shop called to tell me the revolver I had sent in for warranty repair a couple weeks back, was in. That was rather quick in my estimation. Then I got a box from Atlas, with my 3, sound equipped, MP-15DC chassis I sent in to have the surging problem "fixed". According to the paperwork, the decoders were reset, then test run, which is what I've already done and that didn't cure the problem. Soooo, when I get a chance this evening, I'm going to see how they run. Fingers crossed! This will be my 1st train activiity in about a week. The work days have been long, and when off, there's been plenty of other things to tend to. LD & I did go driving around last night, looking at Christmas lights. That was fun. I sure hope the snow and storms aren't causing too much trouble for everyone in those climes.
