I’m replacing the wheels on my BB GP38-2 with the correct (and better) 40” wheels- are the SW1500 wheels the same size? And is green or white putty better for filling the couple of small holes on those shells? (Horn and brake vent area on the 38-2).

The best filler would be some styrene glued in there. Putty can shrink over time.

I use 3M Acryl-White Glazing Putty. It shrinks a bit as it dries, but never after that.

I've had good results with the various Tamiya fillers. They have a basic putty that comes in a tube for larger areas and one that come in a jar with a brush. The stuff in the bottle is a little thinner for brushing over nicks, gouges and the occasional seam.
