Good morning. It looks like we won't be repeating Groundhog day, so we might as well get about it. I haven't been on much, as I've been working on some trains. I've rediscovered Atlas uses a different wiring setup for their sound equipped diesels. I remembered this when I tried installing a QSI decoder in a Trainmaster. Oops. I also remembered they take a pair of 8 ohm speakers, rather than a single 8 ohm speaker. I'm making my list for the LHS, and it looks like a pair of speakers are in my Trainmaster's future, whenever I find a couple of connectors. Other than that, it's sunny and 34 degrees. Have a good week.

Sigh... The little data stream on top of my computer screen said it was the second. After I posted, it said it was the third. Remember, if you make a misteak, blame the computer.

I'm with you, Terry,....... I haven't been on much lately either, but not because of working on trains.... you've been doing that, for me!! Work has been driving me crazy. Get one or two into the hoosegow and 2 or 3 show back up on the streets!!!! Thankfully, my newest officer is said to be ready to go out on his own. I sure hope so, as I need to get back to some semblance of normalcy. Having been shorthanded for nearly 14 months has really taken a toll on me. I can't blame my computer, most of the time..... I have to blame me, because I have no one to proofread most of my stuff! ;D Thankfully, I'm still here and still hanging in.........

Something that happened last week caused a bit of excitement at my house. Seems I pulled into my driveway in the middle of a shooting. I live in what is generally a quiet neighborhood, with my property adjoining a city historic park. There was about a dozen police cruisers, a couple of ambulances, and a K-9 unit all in the parking lot of the park. They were all there until about 10 pm, when they started departing. If I hadn't seen what looked suspiciously like a body bag being loaded into one of the ambulances, I wouldn't know what was going on. To date, I haven't heard anything or seen anything on the news, or in any newspaper, or on the internet. And yes, there was a single gunshot.

That IS rather odd, professionally speaking.

HMMMMM.......... That IS rather odd, professionally speaking. My personal theory is it was a suicide. Nobody came to my door asking if I'd seen or heard anything, there didn't seem to be any searches for the shooter. Another theory is it was an ahem, "employee" that was offed. Both theories have their attractions. I'm concerned if nothing else because of where it happened in relation to my home.

A bad day for Terry... This morning started out with me tearing one of the main doors off the shop with a new travel trailer. This afternoon ended with me setting a brand new trailer on fire. Nothing much happened in between. There is a box with some trains in it from a forum member, I think I will let that box and those trains sit right where they are for the time being. Now, a quick fill-in of the events. I pulled a new trailer out of the shop, and the garage door rolled down onto the roof of the trailer, where the roof-mounted air conditioner hit it, and pulled it out of its tracks. I simply removed a 12 volt fuse from the fuse panel, and the panel and quite a bit of wiring went up in smoke. I always thought removing fuses stopped electrical fires, not started them, but what do I know?

Terry, there is a slight bright spot in having such a bad day..... It all happened in one day. No need to spread out that kind of mayhem over a weeks time! Some days, it just doesn't pay to get out of bed, does it? Kinda strange about the fuse pull causing a short/fire. As far as the activity in the neighborhood, I'd call the PD and ask to speak to someone who can at least let you know if there is something you need to be concerned with. I get calls like this all the time and if I can tell folks what happend, without giving too much detail or names, etc. I do. No need to have my citizens fret needlessly. On the other hand, if I need them to be more aware and want them to report any unusual activity, I let them know that, too.
