I just bought a Genesis GP-9, CNW road #1753, a freight unit with torpedo tubs on the long hood. Is there an accurate caboose available in HO scale to run with this?

Not specifically in CNW that I'm aware of. But AMB has a couple of Minneapolis & St. Louis cabooses in they're Laser Kit line that are really nice. M&StL became part of the CNW in 1960, so one wouldn't look out of place behind your new GP. Its also likely that these might have gotten CNW paint at some point.

Yup. Overland Models did a nice bay window. I think Division Point has/will do them, too. About $300 painted. About the same as a sound equipped GP9. The Overland are also available as paint-yerself, for about $160.
One painted one sold on Ebay about two weeks ago for a bit under $300.

I can't comment on whether it would be correct for your modeled era, but Walthers has offered their bay window caboose in a few CNW paint schemes and numbers. The original kit version of that model had an x-panel roof and a few bay options but the roof limited it to the 11201-11210 series since it was the only group with that roof. The RTR version of this model has diagonal panel and x-panel roof options along with the different bays. I have one factory decorated as CNW 11159 and it features the correct diagonal panel roof and bay style. I bought another one in a red and yellow CNW paint scheme but I completely rebuilt it into a different caboose so I can't look back at it and offer an opinion on what it was good for.

C&NW bought I think six cabooses from the Lehigh Valley around 1969. The LL P2K car isn't 100% (different steps and end windows) but LL did run it in C&NW paint a couple times, there is even a P1K version that omits the interior and lighting (may have been train set only).
I believe one of those cars became the last Northeastern to be in service on a Class 1 RR, as it ended up in UP bright green for MOW service and was used through at least 2010. I don't know if it's still out there or not.
Given you can still find older Proto cars for $20-ish (or less) it might be a cheap way out even if you had to paint it. Certainly beats $300 for a brass one.

Checking online, the real 1753 lasted a long time - into the early 80s before being rebuilt. It remained in the classic paint scheme with the diagonal stripes on the ends until at least 1981. 1981 was also the year they introduced the "Zito" yellow cabooses, so depending on your era you could pick just about anything. If I was the one looking, I would look for a brass bay-window in yellow, either with the "Employee Owned" logo or one of the earlier versions without it. I don't know how often these come up for sale, so like they say, your mileage will vary.
