Good morning, and happy Sunday to everyone that still has electricity in the Northeast, and everyone else as well. I have a day of fun planned, running trains with some fellow club members. My nephew has purchased a 1970 Beetle for his daily driver. He has a Ford Exploder that, to be kind, has had its day, and he's tired of 12mpg. He is supposed to pick it up tomorrow after work, and I'm bringing my car hauler to carry it home, since it currently doesn't have tags. After that, it's a week of prepping for our local annual RV show, hauling trailers back and forth from the dealership to the venue, setup, teardown, and return. All with a couple of days' rain thrown in the mix. Well, I'm off to play with trains, just looking at and thinking about my upcoming week is making me tired. Have a good one.

My weekend ended and work began with an interesting trip last night. I caught the former UFIX coal train and took it south. Just to make it a challenge, there was a little rain and fog. It was quite an adventure going through Tower 55 (always is) because there are four signals within about a quarter mile of each other and they don't all come into view right away. Getting the first one doesn't mean you get any of the others so you really have to tiptoe through that place, especially when you can't see far. After getting through the tower, it was a good run. On a heavy train like that, there are a couple places where you give it all its got and 25 MPH is all you get. At least until I get better at this, that is.
Today the weather is clear and dry, so I'm hopeful whatever train I catch the trip back home is uneventful.

As the weekend draws to a close, I have to get some things ready for work. I'm hoping to get out back and run a few trains. I don't anticipate having quite the "fun" you had, rch!! Terry, hope all goes well with the show and all that back & forth movement. Thankfully, no snow or rain here in SE, NC, but some liquid sunshine is forecast for mid-week. I'd like to have an uneventful work-week, but I don't get to pick & choose what happens.

I got up early today, Monday and caught Amtrak 822 Heritage unit on the Cal Train from Auburn to the Bay area. It has been reported to be in Auburn last night for the run west so I hit Rocklin about 6:45 and waited until the 7 AM arrival. After the station stop, the engineer gave a couple of honks on the horn when he got to my location just west of the station. I think the crew likes the attention. It was prior to sunup and the light at 7AM was just sufficient to get a decent shot of the 822. Larry
