Looking for a true measurement of the raised "F" on this small medallion that EMD applied to various units in the 60's and 70's. See below: I need an exact measurement, because I'm already thinking it's a hair under 3 inches.

I don't have one handy, so cannot give you an exact measurement.
Scaling off of the photo, I get the height of the letter being 1.94"-2.06". Nowhere near 3".
I get the diameter of the casting as 2.78"-2.94". A snidge under 3".

The one above doesn't look quite like a match to the one in the photo. The letter has a greater distance between itself and the surround. But it's surely pretty close. Ed
