I've never started this thread and always wanted too. I've noticed less being added and wanted to put up the little I have been able to do lately. I currently have no layout set up, which is a first in 35 years. I have had a little time foranything, but finally had some good quality Accurail kits arrive in the mail. Fall is here, so get some hot cider, and enjoy and most importantly have fun. First up is a Soo Line 4750, not sure if this car had white trucks,I just like the way it looks with them that way. Kadees, rooftop corner grab irons, Intermountain metal wheels and a blue replaced roof hatch from a 4427 hopper. Next, is a CNW 4750, kadees, two grab irons, kadee wheelsets and replaced white hatch, painted before adding to the model.

Well, it isn't Sunday yet LOL. But, might it be possible for you to embed your images in the post instead of linking? I rarely click links.

Here is my recently completed Penn Central (ex-NYC) PS-1 boxcar. Started with an undec Kadee 40' boxcar with 6' doors. I removed the roofwalk, filled in the holes and then added Plano running board supports and a corner grabirons. I painted the car Scalecoat PC green and lettered it with Microscale decals plus PCRRHS decals for the more accurate numbers. Kept weathering light as this represents a relatively new paint job. This car was actually one I painted in PC about 15 years ago. Back then I over weathered for my time frame and was no longer happy with it. I turned it back into a kit car and removed the old paint using Scalecoat's Wash Away which works great.

Good morning from sunny and cool Northeast Ohio! Managed to finish a couple of cars this week. First is an Atlas PS 2003CF Covered Hopper Kit, painted with Scalecoat II ATSF Red paint and lettered with Tichy Decals. This car was a repaint with the Coast Guard scheme that was introduced in the 1970's. The car was in Argonite service from the LV at Perth Amboy, NJ to whatever factory used Argonite (Calcium Chloride relative) that was mostly found in Spain. Next a Walther's PS 86' High Cube Boxcar kit, painted with a 80/20 Mixture of Scalecoat II Light and Dark Green paint, then lettered with Highball Graphics Decals. The DT&I purchased and or leased several hundred 86' High Cubes from Greenville, Thrall and Pullman Standard for hauling Auto Parts from Ford Stamping Plants to various final assembly plants. This car was assigned to the Chicago Stamping plant in Chicago Heights, IL. A view of my Rapido PA-1's on the Strongsville Club Layout, I really like these locomotives. Thanks for looking! Here is my recently completed Penn Central (ex-NYC) PS-1 boxcar. What is the little triangle between the reporting mark and the number? Not sure but it was the prototype photo. I did see that triangle on PRR cars and I found this: "Note: All cars in the 600000 numbers had a 6" white triangle above the carn umber. This designated the cars for segregated maintenance. The cars we released from the Chicago Car Co. and all maintenance cost were charged back to Chicago Car Co.". Not sure why PC would add one to an ex-NYC car.

A little fun with an Exactrail 52' Thrall gon.... I'm having a play on a picture in one of Morning Sun's Rio Grande books Some Tangent coolness next to an FMC waffle side car that I kitbashed a few years ago, I love the color and lettering mismatch between the two - both are correct!

In celebration of Tangents release of a WWI era tank car I present this car from about the same era. This is a re-post from about five years ago. The model was built about 1977. It is from a MDC (Roundhouse) kit fitted with Central Valley narrow gauge trucks. Kadee N scale couplers,(Yes, Kadee,) and odds and ends from who remembers where? Roughly based on a White Pass conversion. Fairly typical of narrow gauge tanks when a narrow enough frame was present. Other narrow gauge tank cars were tanks from standard gauge cars placed on a flatcar. Still others simply had their trucks exchanged and some adjustments to the brake rigging. Very few, if any, tanks cars were specifically built for narrow gauge railroads.

Sunday Photo Fun 10/15/2023? Kind of jumping the gun aren't we? For years my only power for my C&NW bi-levels was an ancient Proto E7. Quite capable but I was looking for something a little more up to date. I then decided to treat myself to a Genesis FP7 to supplement the motive power available for commuter service. CNW_Bilevel-station by Edmund, on Flickr I have one of those neat Rapido Cullen-Hayes four-lamp beacons I plan to add to this engine, and one for the cab car, too. Cool stuff, guys. I have been pretty lazy as of late with modeling, but I have been slowly working on this tank car. It's black and I don't plan on it being beat to death, so the subtle effect won't win any awards. Older Atlas 23,5K tank. It's been hit with a matte coat, wheel kickup (two mediums including flicking a brush with grimey water) and I also used some off-black acrylic to add some tonal variations to edges, and on the top hatches and caps (not very visible here). Trucks were done with MIG Ammo enamels, with a touch of powder used to accent the red-iron wear that occurs around the bearings. Still needs more tone on the side sheets, hoses and cut levers, and maybe a paint patch or two before I call it.

The "concourse" between the headhouse and platform tracks kind of looks like the old C&NW station before remodeling. Thanks for all the likes and comments, folks — Regards, Ed

That Union station looks incredible!!!!! I still have hopes one day to build DL&W's Hoboken terminal. Anyway, I finally finished this model of CSX 8057. Will add a soundtraxx econami decoder to it. Don't need all the fancy esu stuff for some models. 20221016_171411 by Tripps Pics79, on Flickr But my esu order did arrive and will be getting installed to the remainder of my NJT GP40PH-2 fleet, another NJT unit to be built and sound in my NS SD33ECO i built. 20221018_163344 by Tripps Pics79, on Flickr
