LokPilot 5. What is the difference between these two? I have no idea what a NEM660 or an MKL or what they do.
59619 LokPilot 5 DCC/MM/SX/M4, 21MTC NEM660, gauge H0 ,0
59649 LokPilot 5 DCC/MM/SX/M4, 21MTC MKL, gauge H0 ,0

The numbers you list are LokPilots for the European market.
For North America you want a LokPilot 5 DCC.
The LokPilot 5 DCC 59620 comes with the 8-pin plug connector (NEM652).
The LokPilot 5 DCC 59629 comes with the 21-pin connector (NEM660).
Hope this helps.

Thank you both for the information. I really appreciate it and will order the NEM660 version.

According to the Wiki, as of 2021, the NMRA S-9.1.1.3 and NEM 660 Standards are now in conformance.

According to the Wiki, as of 2021, the NMRA S-9.1.1.3 and NEM 660 Standards are now in conformance. But the locomotive you're installing it in may not be in conformance. Also found more info on the MKL version: The DCC version supports 3 point speed tables (CV 2, 5, and 6), while the NEM version does not.

I bought the ESU 59619 LokPilot5 Standard Multi-Protocol (DCC/MM/SX/M4) Decoder NEM660 21MTC Integral Connector.
I just want something with the current to run my models smoothly, power lights and maybe a couple functions. No sound.
