A coincidence of a good kind. I completed my platform trackwork for Tampa Union Station on my SCL Tampa Divsion around the same time for the prototype National Train Day events at Tampa Union Station this weekend. I'm across the miles in the midwest, but it should be fun there too. What a great prototype to model! I had room for 7 tracks, the prototype had 9 and I also had to leave out an adjacent set of main tracks to the port. It is selectively compressed on the lead, but the platform lengths are very close to the real thing - amazing considering space etc. Attachments:

That's going to look pretty impressive when you get further along, Howard. The trackwork looks very good.
I like that shot.
Any proto pics of what you're going to recreate?

I've used a lot of photos off of Flickr.com under SCL Florida and Amtrak Florida searches. There are also some great references I've used out of an old SCL in Florida book that Carstens Publications put out years ago and has been printed. I could certainly put the Flickr link on here if that was permissable under the rules etc. |

The SCL Tampa Division occupies my basement in a 26x32 room. The railroad is two levels with staging below. I model the exACL and exSAL from St. Petersburg (staging) to Clearwater and Tampa. From Tampa north it's the exACL A line from Sanford north to Jacksonville. As typical there is a lot of selective compression. I will try to get some stuff together over the next several weeks and share as far as the layout progress goes. Attachments:
