Why not in plastic? Not enough sales expected to cover tooling costs?
I hope this doesn't distract Tangent from HO projects.

Is it more than $174.00 per dome?
Is it bigger than a breadbox?

If these are 40' they're about 10" in length but yeah the brass ups the price quite a bit I'd hate to see the price on their O scale Greenvilles 😁. Happy I'm in HO, I buy alot from Tangent but if I was in O I would be unable to afford that.

Cool cars. I must of stared at those wheels a good ten minutes. It would be nice if their HO scale wheel backs and faces were painted like that too. If this is show they can break into the O scale market, why not. It would be cool just to have one in a display case.

Really nice. I have long thought Lionel needed more competition.

It would be cool just to have one in a display case. That's probably going to be a lot of the target market. A boxcar would sell well enough.... But a cute irrestable car like this tank car will attract modelers from other scales who "just gotta have one" for the display case in the layout room or man cave.

An example of why I don't model in O scale. I don't have space or a budget for O scale

An example of why I don't model in O scale. I don't have space or a budget for O scale And the people who do have that budget really do. I've scaled up some Shapeways models for O scalers and I nearly fainted at the price but the person who requested the part was always ecstatic to pay for it. Most of them come back again and again for those expensive parts.

It's quite a bit more than what I wanted to pay for the Tangent tank car and I'm a little disappointed it's not plastic, I placed my order for a GATX 1958 tank car to use for my fuel dealers. The car looks good and I want to support Tangent to see what other models they'll bring to P:48. Luckily I only need one and with a small freight car roster of maybe 20 cars, it's not that bad in the long run. I did just reserve a Sunset model FA O scale locomotive for $780 and I'm concerned the price will possibly double given the price of this tank car.

An example of why I don't model in O scale. I don't have space or a budget for O scale You can do O on a budget if you're thrifty. Rivarossi or Atlas sectional track, vintage freight cars, and get lucky on some engines. I wanted one decent O steam engine, a 2 rail scale one of some sort, and in November I bought six of them for $35 each - a steal. I'll sell off some of them and keep a couple (the camelback 2-8-0 is staying for sure).

I was in scale model supplies in st. paul, MN about a year ago and they had a O scale brass 44-tonner in the case. I had visions of modeling the middletown and new jersey in the basement I had at the time, that 44 tonner with a dead rail battery re-geared for proto 48 trundling past the baseball field in Slate Hill, NY with a couple cars in tow.......I quickly realized I didn't have the time nor the money for such a venture...
I've always had a soft spot for 2 rail O scale and I follow a few groups with some tremendous modelers in them even though it's something I probably wont ever undertake, I like seeing the market expand. If tangent offers those p48 trucks/wheels as a separate part that's a really big development
