2011-run CP Engineering Services MOW Transporter caboose conversion by Rapido. In the late-1990s, CP Rail converted several cabooses into crew vans equipped with upgraded interior furnishings to accompany work trains. Most still exist today but the window grates are rusting and they have more and more graffiti all the time. As-delivered, the model includes the grates as separate parts, so I installed them with an Athabasca storm door. Light weathering, paint touch-ups and coupler replacement/trip pin removal finished out the project.

Here is this weeks projects that were completed. Proto 2000 Northeast Caboose, blanked out some windows and painted it with Scalecoat II ATSF Red and Reefer Yellow paints then applied Highball Graphics decals to the caboose. In the early 60's the DT&I acquired 5 ex-Reading cabooses as they were retiring the wood hacks from long ago. IMWX 1937 AAR Boxcar kit, added Yarmouth Models sill steps in place of the plastic ones of the kit, then painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red #2 and lettered with Speedwitch Media Decals. NP used these for grain service and lumber service as demand needed them. A pair of Athearn GP40-2's with a general freight rolling thru an industrial area on the Strongsville Club layout. the newest addition to my fleet, this absolutely gorgeous Athearn Genesis C44-9W with CN's unique 'teardrop' windshields. All I had to do to this model was install some Kadees, add the small cone antenna above the engineer's side number board, and change the horn for a Nathan K5HL (stolen from a Walthers GEVO parts shell I have) to match the unit to it's appearance circa 2020. This locomotive was rebuilt last year by GE Fort Worth into an AC44C6M, and was delivered back to CN in November as CN 3303.

Likely didn't have air conditioning, CP's first orders of AC44s didn't either.

CN locomotives didn't have it until stuff like the GEVOs and SD70M-2s came out. I think those have it. At first I thought he was asking where the AC inverter cabinet went in the rebuilt, they put it on the walkway behind the cab just like an AC4400.

Are the 'teardrop' windshields just EMD glass?

Are the 'teardrop' windshields just EMD glass? on the CN Dash 9s? No. The 'teardrop' is significantly larger on an EMD windshield than on GE's version. See the photos of ' cr9617's SD80MAC further up the thread.
