Hi. I pray I am not posting something already explained someplace, that I am simply failing to notice it..But I don't think so.. Is TARF affiliated with Atlas, the manufacturer of MRR locos, cars, track (such as code 83 flex and CustomLine switches) controllers, and other MRR products ? Reason I ask is, again, I am not seeing an "About Us" or such explaining the background/creation on this forum..Or, is "ATLAS" merely a, say, universally available word/name chosen as the title of the forum and is not affiliated with the model manufacturer ? Either way is fine..Just curious... Thanks

For many years Atlas maintained a forum as part of their business. Atlas was at the forefront of the early uses of the internet and their forum was, I believe, the first or close to the first use of a forum by a company to promote their products. For many reasons, Atlas decided to use their employee's time elsewhere and closed the forum with plenty of advance notice. Donnel Wells started this forum to attract members of the original forum.

Atlas decided to close down their forum in 2012, allegedly due to cost savings and maintenance issues. The admin decided to start this forum as a place for the forum Atlas forum members to go, and created this forum to rescue us from the shut down of the Atlas company forum. Cheers

Oh! So that's what "Rescue" is due to ! The manufacturer is no longer associated with us; the forum was rescued from its demise by Donnel W after the Manu dropped it ! Thanks for the clarification...
