Guess everyone was watching the game. Finished these undecorated automax cars i bought over a decade ago. Loving how they turned out. Dullcoated them last night to seal it all up. Had to apply the decals like an assembly line. Dunk entire cut out sheet of what i needed in water, then just slide them all off and work them into place. Made it so much easier then doing each section one at a time. 20230211_194443 by Tripps Pics79, on Flickr All the cars got road numbers and data decals plus reflective stripes. 20230210_183624 by Tripps Pics79, on Flickr

Was working on a few fleet upgrades, Milwaukee grain boxcars and some for the CB&Q coal fleet. Between 1966 and 1968 the CB&Q Havelock shop rebuilt 742 older offset side three bay hoppers with rib sides. The Atlas Trainman triple hopper has good proportions and decent lettering but cast on details that are a bit clunky. I replaced all the grabs with wire parts, added a Plano etched brake platform, and Tangent cut levers before touching up the paint, and adding repack and chalk mark decals and weathering for my 1969 era. Did a pair of these to go with the new Broadway offset cars that will hopefully revamp the coal fleet quite a lot. MILW 34092 and 34423 are Exactrail "Long Rib" cars. They had a sale on cars in the old Hiawatha scheme that were too old for me. I got some and removed the lettering and replaced with Circus City decals to match a couple prototype photos. Here's one from 1977. Lettering and weathering backdated to my 1969 era. www.rr-fallenflags.org/milw/milw34092s13.jpgMILW 31367 is an Intermountain “short rib” 40’ boxcar with some lettering selectively removed and replaced with Circus City decals including reporting marks and data to match a prototype photo. Again from 1977: www.rr-fallenflags.org/milw/milw31637j06.jpgAlso backdated lettering and weathering to 1969. Tim VanMersbergen

John Love the subtle rusting and paint chips on the front. You really nailed the look Dan

That rust on the 652 is extremely realistic. Well done!

Some green paint and Kohlberg decals made this Kadee anniversary boxcar into something infinitely more useful:

Nice GMO boxcar. I picked up a Kadee factory decorated green GMO boxcar but with the Cushioned for Soft Ride Inside... slogan.

Some green paint and Kohlberg decals made this Kadee anniversary boxcar into something infinitely more useful: I did exactly the same thing. It was the only way to get a 10' door and rigid underframe. Sorry, don't have a better pic, but I need to suck it up and weather the car anyway.

That CRIP E looks fab! Love the GM&O car(s), and while I model about thirty years post GM&O, I myself have the decals to do one of those. And want to. I may age mine into the Paducah and Louisville variant, though.

As I look now, where did you source the door, Adam?

As I look now, where did you source the door, Adam? Moloco has the doors for this car as a separate part.

Once again Mr. E-unit shows the rest of us how it's done!!! Not only that but he also makes that awful red and yellow paint scheme look good. Really good.
