This is the new Stadler Br.159 Euro Dual. It can be configured for the customer for different operating voltages and also dual voltage operation. The 'Dual' in the name though, refers to the 16 cylinder Caterpillar diesel engine allowing dual operation on un-electrified routes. Stadler started selling this locomotive in 2019 IIRC, and soon after, Sud Express in Portugal started on the model. The first release had several minor problems with Loksound 5 programming and associated performance issues, but the second release that is occurring now has had all of those problems taken care of. Sud Express outdid themselves with the exacting detail of this locomotive. The only omission I can find are the inside of the steps should be white instead of the molded black color. Easily fixed though. This model has operating exhaust fans in Diesel mode, independently controlled servo actuated pantographs, extensive lighting options, and excellent running characteristics. I've been waiting over a year on a pre-order for this particular livery, but I had a total of five pre-orders submitted and was willing to take whichever one came in first since these are a very limited production. I was lucky that my very first choice came in first and was notified by email. I couldn't get my CC out fast enough.
That's some impressive detail. Very cool.

Slugging it out with this thing, the under frame, ends and one side are pretty much done. The Moloco roof is fantastic!

With the football season over I have my Sundays open for operating again, and today I made it out to the Bronx to operate on Phil Monats Delaware and Susquehanna, I have been coming to this railroad since I was a teenager and I always have a great time moving trains over the D&S. Here we have CP 337 accelerating out of Northhampton, PA with a block head out for Wilkes Barre yard at the top of the mountain. And the NS 19G arrives in Slatington on its journey north, the D&S Slatington Drill is awaiting the arrival of a southbound train

Nice layout, I sure wouldn't let football interfere with a chance to operate on such a nice layout.
More interesting looking brews, Dan.

I'm a lil behind as usual, I don't have much for internet access on the weekends. I've been experimenting with asphalt road making over the last couple days. I tried the EVA foam stuff and I think I'm getting close to a result I like. Looking thru old pictures of Chicago it looks like I need a bit more patches and manhole covers. Nothings attached yet so I can still play with it some more, so I'm certainly open to suggestions.

I tried the EVA foam stuff and I think I'm getting close to a result I like. I've been using it for years. Mainly parking lots, driveways, and so forth. Below is a repost of a photo from my Taco Bell project showing a decent parking area at the bottom and a "needs to be repaved" drive at the top. (The gridded strips are actually masking tape to keep the rest clean while I worked the asphalt.) It looks like you've captured the most essential visual - asphalt is not black for very long. It gets to be light gray. A suggestion is to add more wear and discoloration in the lanes of traffic. That effect is too strong in the Taco Bell photo and I later tamed it.

Your Taco Bell project is actually what made me try the foam in the first place, so thank you. And yes, I agree looking at more proto pics from the 60s there should be darker streaks down the lane centers. And lots of dirt and crap where the curb meets the road.
