I would love a welded version of this. I would however, never pre-order a RTR from them (unless they wont run the card) because given their lack of success of ever producing anything in the JJL line I just dont trust them. For 3d printing I may take a chance

I spoke with Mike and Chris about this a while ago. The "pre-order" interest was underwhelming to say the least. They needed a rather significant number of orders to move forward with having the tooling made and the parts produced. The hope is to someday be able to produce them in-house but the business needs more of their attention that they can provide to it and to this project at the same time. The need for an in-house injection molding machine is one of the hurdles they want to accomplish someday. Dan That is pretty much what I was told at Springfield also. That is why I suggested the model be produced as a 3D printed effort. No need for large initial capital outlays for tooling and injection molding equipment. The need to cover those costs would require a much larger production run, and sales, than 3D printing. Additionally, the pre production models they were showing were 3D printed and looked fantastic, much better than the resin kits from Joe Lofland, the original JJL in JJL Models. They definitely have done their homework and design, just need to produce the model in some form. In their request for interest on their FB page, they allude to producing RTR painted and detailed models. If interest isn’t sufficient to cover costs of production, maybe offering them as 3D printed kits would be more cost effective and profitable on a lower production run. They could even print on demand, something not possible with injection molding. As I stated earlier, I asked if they would sell me a number of 3D printed versions of the models on display, but was rebuffed. Seems such a waste to put in all the effort they obviously have done, only to let the project die on the vine. Tom

The longer they wait, the closer we get to someone (hopefully Tangent), doing the car. They should do the 3D prints.
