Does anybody have a copy of this magazine in their collection? It has a picture of a Utah Belt locomotive on the cover.
There is an article on the 1500 series Illinois Central Mikados in this issue, and supposedly it has drawings for an auxiliary water tender along with the locomotive. Are the drawings/photos any good? Is it worth getting a back issue of this one on eBay, or is someone willing to send an image of the page?
I wish Model Railroader or Model Railroad Craftsman would make a compilation issue or digital download of all their published drawings. It seems like those are the most timeless articles. As layout design techniques and model technology advances, a lot of older articles go obsolete. The only ones that stay continually relevant are those with technical information like drawings or spotting feature breakdowns.

Good point, I totally forgot Model Railroader had that. The monthly cost for a membership is basically the same as if I bought a used copy online, and I could go through multiple issues and get all the drawings I need.

If you sign up for a 30-day free trial membership with Kalmbach, do try to time it or a period when you can make maximum use of it. I think the offer is only good once per person.
Meanwhile when I can, which likely won't be until next week, I'll try to see whether I might still have a copy of the issue of MR with the scale drawing of the IC 2-8-2 with an auxiliary water tender.
Most scale drawings in the major model railroad magazines have been quite accurate. The many that J. Harold Geissel did for MR, for instance, were excellent. Athearn produced one steam switcher with the herald Linn Westcott made up and put on one of his drawings for MR many years back. Bob Hundman's drawings for magazines he edited were also very good indeed. I know of just one published set of scale drawings, for Alco RS-3's done by a draftsman with the surname Nelson or Nelson, who died some years back, that had some fairly major errors. If you go back far enough, to the 1930s and 1940s, say, you may find cruder drawings and will find some with titles such as "Alco diesel switcher".

Mr. Trainiac, I've found the issue with the article. I'll send you a private message.
